Works great! All channels are clear, no static. Easy to use and not too large on my counter.

Received NOAA weather in my rock and metal-roofed house. My two other radio shack weather radios could not pick up the station in the house. Weather radio is reasonably clear. FM/AM came in clearly. Sound is fine. Sturdy plastic - does not feel cheap. Chose this model for the 31" antenna and price. I wanted an expensive radio for weather but thought I would try this radio based on reviews and price before forking over the dough. Very pleased with purchase so far.

AM band didn't work properly, loud audible beeping wouldn't stop.

This Prunus J 15 weather radio is useless!!! The only thing on it that works is the flashlight built into it! Nothing else works! Manufacturer refused to replace it! I received it from Amazon 12/31/24 and did not open it until the severe weather threat 3/15/25. It is dead. Nothing works but the flashlight! It is past Amazon return period and mfgr. will not replace it! I rated one star only because I had to select a star rating to post this!

Hi everyone. This radio has the appearance and also the feel of a sturdy product. It is beautifully designed and obviously manufactured to exacting specifications. I paid it 30$CDN (about US$ 23), so it is quite affordable for what it does. There are four (4) different bands (AM, FM & two short wave bands), but in my location the only available stations on the 1st SW band are the 7 NOAA stations for keeping oneself informed of extreme weather events. I couldn't tune in any station on the 2nd SW band, but that is likely due to the kind of 6-story building i live in, of which there are many others very close by, which would block the short wavelength radio signals.Note that you will have to purchase 4 regular category D batteries (alkaline or better) if you want the radio to stay on a while during an electricity black out event. This radio does not have the capacity to itself recharge rechargeable batteries - you obviously can use those, but they are quite expensive & they need to come with their own recharging base, which brings their cost to over US$25 (so, more than the radio itself).I look forward to enjoying this equipment for a long time because i'm convinced it is a quality product and will function adequately for a few years. One last note: the photograph makes this radio appear like it is "pale silver" (so to speak) but it is in fact a shade of dark gray, so the appearance is different than it appears on the product's page on Amazon.p.s..: The box it comes in is apparently branded "Pr0nus", but the 0 is in the shape of a cat's head so it might in fact be "PRUNUS" (with 2 cat ears over the 1st U) like it says on the radio itself. I sincerely hope my comments helps you in making the right choice for YOU of a portable radio. By the way, remember also that this does NOT incorporate a cd player but a USB drive feature to read your stored music.

While you won't get everything for this price you already knew that. I forsook the cranks and solar panels of the other radios in the hope that my money would buy me a good - sounding small radio. This is a good- sounding radio. No cool looking preset buttons. Who even needs that though? This radio is as simple as it gets, and that's great. The speaker seems to measure 2 3/4". I was hoping for 3" but like I said, it sounds pretty darn good for a cheap radio. A very long antenna; gets more FM stations than my car radio. The 'flashlight' will get you down the hall at night, you could read a map with it . That's not why I bought it. I bought it for the FM and NOAA bands. I find the AC plug in and the 3D size battery combo more practical than the recharging mode of so many other radios. Let's not forget about the headphone jack! It sounds marvelous in there! Get some headphones! I'm gonna be very happy with this little guy.

Good quality and fair sound for a nice price, also includes a built in light. Takes 3 D cell batteries, so we will have plenty of juice on hand. Recommended for emergency preparedness.

This was purchased for my parents rural basement apartment. Can plug it in or run it on batteries. Great reception anywhere in their apartment. Previous radio had to be in a certain window up against the glass. Very happy with the product.

Just received this radio and haven’t had time to give it a thorough testing but it plays very well and very clear. Only listened to FM and the Weather channel so far but it gets lots of clear channels on FM and the Weather channel comes in clear. It’s a good looking radio and it seems well built. With 3 D batteries installed it is heavy as it should be. Comes well boxed. Radio arrived in excellent shape and it was delivered a day early. I’m very happy with it.

Seems like a descent radio for the money. The large speaker (compared to other weather radios of this type) sounds better than expected. With good volume output. The radio is very light weight . The additional weight of the three "D" batteries make it seem more stable when sitting on a table. All the frequency bands tune pretty good. Our house has a metal roof, so the best reception on the weather band is on the back porch. I can receive weather band in the house but the antenna must be parallel to the floor or close to a window helps tuning. Walking around with the radio to tune may be required. I can tune three different weather band channels at my location. The tune light works good on FM but not so much on weather or short wave. The volume knob is kinda hidden under the non-folding handle. This protects it yet can be a slight hinder to reach, but not a huge deal.Wasn't interested in the hand crank feature or cell phone charging that doesn't work well in other radios. Wish the handle folded. Would be nice if it would run off of a 12 volt cigarette plug or USB plug, but no joy. Only 110/120 house voltage plug or the three "D" batteries when the power goes out. Not sure how long the "D" batteries last, but am sure it would be a few days. Would buy again. Would make a good gift for those who don't know they need one.

This radio is light and portable, it gets great reception and seems to get even more stations than radios that I have. The weather bands come in clearly and while the light is not extremely bright (it is 3 LEDs) there is plenty of light for like camping or going for a walk. The dual power options are a great thing with the 3 "D" batteries helping to provide weight and stability. The power cord is plenty long enough, but it would be nice if the radio had a place to store it. This radio is well worth the money and a perfect goto for Camping, a boat or just to keep close at hand.
