I like this radio. It’s lightweight. Has good reception. It tunes in well to the station I wanted. I’m glad I bought it.

This product is great to sit in my kitchen window and play while I wash my dishes. Living in Florida having a NOAA weather band is comforting too.

I bought this radio for the NOAA weather tuner. It is really good in the NOAA reception for my area. FM reception s good. The problem with it is that the AM radio reception is terrible. You will hear electronic whistles and strange sounds from the tuner. There is no night time reception when the ionosphere becomes active to bounce the AM signals from different areas. I cannot receive the long distance stations that other radios receive just fine. I am going to return it.

Good radio for the low price and works fine. Weather channels come in clear! Everyone should have a portable weather radio! This one does the job!!

Popped in 2 rechargeable D batteries and turned this radio on after it was delivered. I was instantly impressed with the sound quality for its size and price. Pulls in NOAA stations well, 2 in my area one closer 20-30 miles and a fainter one 40-50 miles away. Easy to read intuitive dial and is a no-brainer to use, works like an old school radio. Pretty awesome that it comes with a power adapter too. Enjoyed listening to FM music on it more than I thought I would! Did not test AM as I do not care about it. I recommend this radio for the functions and use-cases described.

This design using 2 "D" cells is ideal if all the bands worked well, but the NOAA requires nearly a full extension of the whip to receive local NOAA signals, FM is perhaps the only band that works well reception-wise, (no surprise as very few DSP radios have issues with FM reception, analog or digital display) with the whip fully retracted, weak AM and it struggles to pick up signals, even clear channel signals are problematic, too much of a hassle to return, will donate.A word of caution if one is tempted to used the supplied power adapter for "other radios", don't do it unless that radio is designed to be used with a 5 volt (AC) adapter, that's right, the design almost guarantees that if you try to use this adapter in any other model, the lack of a rectifier in-line will likely not work but might toast the circuit of whatever one manages to plug the tip into. Most wall warts are designed to spit out a reduced (DC) voltage, this one merely steps 120VAC down to 5VAC, so not so obviously the full-wave or half-wave converter is inside this model radio, not inside the adapter itself.I really wanted to like this model just on the spread out dial design, but the constant struggle to pick up weak signals day or night sunk it for my uses.If only Panasonic made a DSP version powered by 2 "D" cells, oh wait a minute, they do, it's the RF-562 sold right here on Amazon for around $30, but it's worth it even if it doesn't come with a similar carry handle like this model or the ubiquitous RF-2400(D).

My radio was just delivered today, so I haven't had it on very long. I was afraid this radio wouldn't be a very good buy after reading some of the reviews. However, I am very pleasantly surprised. It's plenty loud enough and I get many stations on both AM and FM. The weather has only one station I have found so far, but it is in the nearest big city and is giving information in my general area. That is fine with me. The sound is not tinny and no static at all except a very slight amount in some off station areas on the dial. The body of this radio is very light and made of plastic, but it doesn't feel cheap. The battery compartment in the back is easy to open and the batteries will be easy to insert. The tuning control and volume control are right next to eachother for ease of bringing in stations at the right volume.I think this is an exceptional buy for the price and am very happy with my purchase.
