Let me start by saying I made the switch to this fridge two years ago and it has run like a champ, every day, ever since. Swapped out an older propane/120 volt fridge that went nasty moldy after power went out while I was away from the rig for a week. Best thing that ever happened to my fridge. Decided to go with this after extensive research into the dangers of propane fridges in RVs and the benefits of 12v.Now life is better. Much better. I now use zero propane when off of shore power, and zero shore power when on shore power as I run the fridge 100% off solar. I have 1000 watts of solar on the roof and 400 amp hours of LiFePo4 batteries running at 12 volt, so this fits in seamlessly. Installation was straight forward though a little bit of a pain since I had to run a heavier gauge 12 wire from the batteries in back to the front where the fridge is, and I had to enlarge the cabinet where the older and shorter fridge was, but totally worth it. I worry very little now about power loss ruining my fridge. And I was able to seal off the exterior fridge vent that the old unit required, which makes a decent difference in the r-value of my rig. I no longer get the freezing breeze coming in around my fridge when winter camping. I gained tons of interior fridge space as this doesn't need all the clearance in back for the propane venting. If it were cheaper I'd swap out my residential fridge in my house with two of these. But for an RV fridge, it's still cheaper than the propane unit it replaced.

I connected this unit, but the freezer does not work! The temperature is set to 5, the refrigerator is working, but the freezer is not!

I like the product, just not the manufacturer policies in regards to consumer issues.Pros:- The unit looks good. It doesn't look cheap in my kitchen.- It fairly easily replaced the Everchill model that came with my travel trailer.- It runs fairly quietly.- interior is a good size.- The unit gets cold enough to keep all your food safe. Some 12volt freezers don't reach a cold enough level for any long term storage of over 2 weeks. My Everchill model would run between 8 and 12 degrees.- The temperature controls are on the outside. I like being able to set the temperature without keeping the door open. While I only have to set the temp 1-2 times per year, when you are getting the unit initially setup, I didn't like having to find the right temp with the door open on my previous unit.- I like the retractable shelf option in the fridge.- I like the sunken freezer that can hold the food better while I drive.- I think it's American made.Cons:- If there is any minor issues discovered upon receipt of the product, the company will only allow you to ship it back to them for a replacement. Their policy is that they will not provide or sell parts to the consumer. They will only deal with distributers.I had an issue where the rubber seal was overly compressed in on corner of the door. That allowed for a tiny gap (not a complete seal). The company told me I had to ship the entire product back to amazon. Mind you, this product came to me via freight shipping.I was able to solve it on my own by removing the gasket, turning it 180 degrees and putting it back on.- The unit shipped with about 5 small dents on the front. I am not going to go through the trouble of freight shipping it back for a replacement that may or may not also have dents. When you unbox the unit, the front is covered in tape and cardboard that states DO NOT REMOVE UNTIL INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE. So I didn't realize those dents were there until I was installed and ready to go.- They do not provide you with a wire pigtail to aid in the installation. The 12volt input on the fridge is setup with a specific plug. The unit didn't come with the opposite end and I had to get creative in connecting the wires.- I don't love the method required to secure the unit. This is performed with 6 screws that go through the inside of the unit near the front doors and into the side walls of your cabinet. I had to add some addition support to my cabinet walls to increase their strength and then use some longer screws to ensure they could reach and grab the wood.Although I've only had the unit for about a week, I am overall pleased with its operation.

I have searched for this type of refrigerator for many months. These are a new item for RVs. This one replaced my old norcold in our safari Sahara filling the hole nicely. A little modification, removing old propane line and capping. Running a pair of 10 guage wires to the refrigerator area. This gives us 2 cu ft more space. Running it consumes a little under 5 amps at 12 volt. Now for the week long refrigerator vs 200 watt solar panels vs a newly built 400ah lifepo4 house battery system! After 5 hours refrigerator was at 32 and freezer at 0. Time to adjust settings down to 4. So far I am pleased with this purchase and loosing the no 2 cause of motorhome fires. The absorption refrigerator. Say hello to ice cream and no more frozen lettuce!I chose the norcold as the domestic I could not find enough information on. I have read of complaints of the furrion being loud. This norcold seems very quiet and also has a night button. I wish my kids had come with one of those! From so cal to kingman. Fridge kept 37-39f all the way to ouray Colorado. It works like a champ. My wife called this the best thin I have ever bought, due to the extra 2 cubic feet storage.Update may 2022. Still works like a champ. I had to seal to old vent from previous fridge as it let in cold air and hot air. Now to seal the roof vent! It is quiet. We do not hear it. It holds temps really good. With 200 watt solar it never kills the battery. My wife still praises the extra room. Every trip!
