Tried extracting a screw a couple months ago with no success. Tried again yesterday. After failing, I used a different drill bit to pre-drill hole and worked this time. Drill bits that come with it are not good quality. Actual extractor set is good quality.

These things are amazing, and i'll never buy another brand! These bite, hard!!! I snapped a thread chaser off in a hard to find hub from an old Mercedes after a tire shop galled the threads on multiple wheel bolts. To add insult to injury, i got slightly off kilter and snapped the thread chaser. I had to use carbide drill bits to punch through the chaser, so i didn't know how well this would grab. Happy to report that it grabbed so well that i had to mount my vise to my concrete driveway after i pulled my workbench loose from the dang wall. No exaggeration there, either. I swore i would break the extractor or the tap wrench, but i pulled 3" lags out of a 2x4 wall stud first.

Worth the money. Bits are sharp and last longer than cheaper bits when drilling steels. Will buy this set again.

I tried 2 different $20 sets and they didn't drill into the broken bolt by even 1/32". Switched to this set and it did everything that I needed it to do. Super slow drill speed, lots of pressure, and a steady steam of motor oil used as cutting oil.

Bought this b/c it was not some cheap foreign junk, this was no better, the extractor bit broke on first use just like the other buyer stated, now i have to waste some carbide dremel bits to get the broken piece out as they will not drill out easy. Really aggravating. What happened to quality made tools made in the USA.

Great. Melted away a month of frustration with a set of stripped screws. Has worked consistently for me. This kind of quality is the reason I buy American. I can see myself in a parallel universe using an imported set and cursing as the bit breaks of in the screw head on the second use.

I had it a week and used it twice. I'm not sure that the reverse twist really does anything, but it makes theoretical sense. However, the bits are great quality and they drilled into the offending pipe plug and bolt head just like the normal twist drills made by Norseman. Norseman bits are a huge step up from HF's $19.95 drill assortment.
