Ordered this for my dead Garmin. The instructions were easy to follow, and the installation went smoothly. Unfortunately the Garmin stayed dead…battery ended up not being the problem.This is a good kit, if you need to change out a dead battery.

Had my garmin inreach explorer+ for 5 years, used it last fall hu ting, tried to get it going in march and nothing. Tried everything i could find online. Ordered the battery last week, got it delivered today in northern ontario, and boom! Works like new! I was just anout to order a zoleo or something, i have been through 2 spots but this garmin will keep going!

Pros: Kit came with battery, dvd video, and tool for complete DIY replacement.Cons: none so far.I am surprised the original battery only lasted 4 1/2 years. (mfg date was 2017/01/23). One day the Garmin InReach Explorer+ was working fine; the next - no response. Blank screen. Wouldn't even boot when connected to PC or show a charging icon when just connected to a USB charger. I don't use the Explorer+ very often. Usually for mulitday hikes.This kit provides an exact size and 3100 mAh capacity as original Li Ion battery. The Explorer+ plus has 6 torx (t6?) screws and the tool in this kit was a precise fit. Following the video provided on the DVD (also available on YouTube) I was able to replace the battery in less than 15 minutes. The old battery was stuck pretty good so it required a bit of prying. The new battery arrived with about half a charge, so I could test right away. The Explorer+ works like before.So did the old battery just have a loose connection? No. I tried that first thing after it was opened up.$40 is way better than $500+ for a newer model. Let's hope this battery lasts at least 4 more years.

Directions for the Garman battery replacement were Ok but I went on YouTube that helped. Just came back from Newfoundland on the moose hunt and the battery replacement worked well no problems.
