Update:I have changed my negative rating. Tork has finally released an update to the app. The app is finally working smoothly. My one complaint is that it took way too long for them to update. So far it's working as it should.___________________________________________________________________________________________I was able to connect the wifi timer and was initially pleased. Unfortunately the app that controls the timer constantly crashes and I have to uninstall and reinstall. There's no other way to control the timer without a properly working app.

I wrote this to the mfg. As per the mfg these units have a known issue and they are working to correct the concern.I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the recent purchase of your WiFi switch. I have encountered numerous issues with this product, leading me to believe that it is of substandard quality. I feel compelled to share my experience, as I have noticed similar complaints from other customers who have reviewed the product on various platforms, including Amazon.First and foremost, the most glaring issue is the alarming rate at which these WiFi switches have failed. In less than a year, I have gone through a total of five units, which is an absurdly high number for a device of this nature. It is worth mentioning that I have not connected these switches to a high amperage circuit, but rather to a 1.8 amp light circuit. Therefore, the failures cannot be attributed to excessive power load. The common failure experienced by many users, including myself, is the complete inability of the unit to power on. Furthermore, these switches frequently lose communication with the router, despite the router being located mere feet away. Such reliability issues render the product essentially useless, as it fails to perform its primary function effectively. What is most disheartening is the short lifespan of these WiFi switches. On average, they have only lasted between six to eight months before succumbing to failure. This is an unacceptably brief period, especially considering the investment made in purchasing the product and the expectation of a reasonable lifespan. Additionally, it is worth noting that there is no manual override to manually turn on the switch when the automatic mechanism fails, further exacerbating the issue.I kindly request that you take this matter seriously and address the glaring quality issues present in your WiFi switches. I believe it is crucial for your company to investigate the root causes of these failures and take immediate steps to rectify them. Customers should be able to rely on your products for their intended purposes without the constant fear of premature failure. In light of the persistent issues and the considerable inconvenience caused, I would appreciate a resolution to this matter. It could be in the form of a replacement WiFi switch, provided it has undergone thorough quality testing and improvements. Alternatively, a refund would be acceptable, given the ongoing dissatisfaction I have experienced with your product.I hope that my feedback will contribute to your commitment to delivering high-quality products and that you will take prompt action to rectify these issues.

i swapped out my existing timer with this guy and it went smooth. Joining it to WIFI was easy using their app. Setting up a schedule was straightforward, but i can see how it can be confusing for some.I also was able to add it to my google home for easy access.Just make sure theres sufficient wifi signal where you have the timer.

Think of this like a Smart Plug you might use with your Alexa device. However, it's used for building lighting like warehouse or parking lot lighting. You could use it for pool lighting, or pretty much anything "heavy duty" that you might switch on and off that is hard-wired in.It has basically the same logic circuit as the $5 plugs you might buy for an outlet, but these can control 120V to 240V outdoor lighting and is capable of switching two circuits. (SPDT) It can be used as single pole single throw (SPST) however, which is what I am doing. There are competitive products for significantly less, however, I am familiar with and trust the NSI/Tork brand. I was replacing a legacy Tork timer with thumb screws to set on and off times. Our primary motivation was to get a system that would adjust correctly with daylight savings, in order to ensure the lighting was coming on appropriately and saving money by not being on when not needed.Typically there is a neutral (white), a line (black), a load (black), and a ground (green). The switch connects the two blacks allowing the load to go live. Note that when wiring this switch, you must connect a line to both the left terminal to power the device, and to the line on one of the poles. This is easy to do, but historically the legacy Tork switch I removed got its timer power from the line that would power the load. I used a wire nut and two short jumpers to provide this power. The app is a bit lacking compared to others. It uses the same generic "Smart Life" app used by many Chinese appliances but requires a Tork-specific username and password. It was a bit tricky figuring out in the app which style device to pick. Under "Electrical" you need "SWITCH (BLE+Wi-Fi)" The technical support told me that I needed to have my WiFi router "about a foot" away from the device to connect it, but that is awkward here due to it being mounted on a wall - you may want to run power (with no load) to initially configure the switch before mounting it if you're not sure you have great WiFi where it is mounted. The switch does remember its configuration. Again, the "discover devices" did not work, but it was easy to manually configure once you knew which switch to pick.My other problem with the app is that newer versions help configure Alexa integration for you. This one tells you to add the skill to the Alexa side instead and work backward with Smart Life. That would have been fine, but I already have other Smart Life devices configured within Alexa so it will not find this new Tork account unless I log out of the others, which would require setting up those devices again. That I am NOT happy about and haven't worked through yet. These are parking lot lights at my business - so my main goal is to set them up with automation, which I did directly in the Tork app. But doing so in the Alexa app gives more interesting integrations, such as turning on and off while it is raining, or being able to use voice control. Additionally, there are other integrations I could make use of through third-party automation like IFTTT - but only if I can add the devices to Alexa. And while I could have created an entirely new set of accounts, I like to be able to "drop in" on my office, and my home from the office, as well as take advantage of the audio sensors in the devices. This is probably WELL beyond what most consumers will be looking to do, and those not already using a Smart Life enabled device previously should be able to add the skill.Overall, I do recommend this device.

Worked well for 2 months - now it keeps needing to be reset every couple of days. Wi-Fi is NOT the issue. Going back to wheel or different model.
