This was my first time embroidering and the instructions (though brief) were sufficient to get me through in terms of how to execute the different stitches. More than enough embroidery floss was included, but I do wish the instructions were more explicit with the fact that you needed to separate each "thread" into six even smaller ones. I messed that up on the first color I used, but quickly rectified and was able to complete the rest correctly. This is an extremely tedious hobby. It took me many, many hours--perhaps because I am an absolute beginner. But the results were gorgeous. I made my finished product into a patch and adhered it to a notebook.

I consider myself an advanced beginner ( know the basic stitches and one or two fancy ones too) when it comes to embroidery which I find a very relaxing and rewarding hobby. This is the first kit I have ordered that actually comes with the threads and a little cardboard floss organizer which totally save that it comes in handy in future projects! The threads are very shiny which I think they contain a hint of satin or silk, not all cotton. That little sheen looks beautiful in satin stitch and long&short stitching and makes a difference. The needles are nice. I think there were 3 or4 in the kit. The fabric is nice and sturdy and the hoop is okay. I might switch out the hoop for a wooden one for hanging maybe, since this will be a gift. I cant do french knots to save my life so I substituted with a satin stitch in the center of the flower. If you are a beginner who knows basic long &short, satin, backstitching, leaf stitch and outline stitch you will do fine. Youtube has tutorials if you need help. This came on time and in perfect condition, no shipping damage. Well packaged and for the price, you cant beat it! Good purchase choice.

First off: I do enjoy the pattern. It's cute, fairly simple (I'm a very novice embroidery person), and I've been working through it with only a few hiccups.As I hadn't done embroidery in a while, I was not sure what an "outline stitch" was. So, I flipped to the instructions, which didn't really help me at all. I had to seek outside help from a YouTube video. So, if you're looking for a kit with detailed, helpful instructions...maybe seek elsewhere. If you're okay with using YouTube, then it'll work for you.The embroidery floss was separated on a piece of cardboard with holes pertaining to each color, which was super nice and helpful. There's minimal tangling, so as long as you keep to the system of putting each color back, you're good there.All in all, a fairly decent kit - and if you know someone who is just starting embroidery, it would make a great gift!

Great kit, but no directions on how to add the details. Tells the color order to use, but not the method to *do* the project. Not for someone with zero experience
