Our circa 2000 house had old nasty Ivory wall inlets as part of the Nutone Central Vac. They came with cork seals that were aged and cracked. These were a perfect replacement part to clean up the look and replace the broken ones. They also have a non cork seal that lools to be neoprene or some other synthetic material.

I previously bought some replacements for our central vac, and they were very much inferior from the quality of the plastic to the electrical connections. These are much better, and worth the money. I recommend them!

we're painting our home and decided to replace the Vaccum inlets. Reading some of the other reviews I wasn't sure about the color so I ordered only one. It's not "brite" white but it looks alot better then the ones that had turned yellow in our house. Easy enough to install. I will be ordering two more!

Received the Inlet in the mail today. I see the cost has risen 97 cents since I ordered it two days ago. Sure, prices are increased for various reasons, but it seems to be happening on Amazon much more frequently than say a year ago, and by higher percentages. UPDATE: Only two hours after writing the above, the price at $13.35 had increased another 26 cents! Total increase in 2 days: $1.23 which is a 10% increase.I replaced my old inlet with this one because I also purchased a CH515 hose and it fits this one much better. The new hose was almost too large to fit in the old inlet, but new hose and new inlet fits just fine. I can see how an older hose with this newer, very slightly larger inlet is looser as others have stated. Replacing my old inlet with this one was a very simple operation. The gasket on the old one was cork, but this new one is made of rubber and not felt as others have said.The reason for 4 starts is because the inlet had dirt on it, outside and inside the cover, even though it arrived sealed in plastic. I had to wash it with soap and hot water to get it clean. There is still a tiny black stain on the cover.

Great for retrofitting older Nutone outlets. Fits newer hoses, which slightly larger in diameter too.
