At 1st I thought it was a piece of crap, but after I got into it and having to spend additional $16 for Toyota it worked pretty good.Pros:- Easily linked up to my phone.- Nice customizable displays.- Fast display updates.- Didn't drain my battery after 4 days of not running the engine.Cons:- Pissed me off I had to buy additional SW to make this work. So I have 3 trucks that's additional $48 to have this work for all 3 trucks. I need to say it did provide some generic obd ll points without buying vehicle spacific SW.- No live data (other than displays you build) , BUT after you drive or run your car it comes up with a nice report that you can print. The report is from your display screens. The report is too big to nicely read from your phone.Overall I gave it a 4-star because I had to spend more $$$ to get the information I needed. I also didn't like not being able to stream live data without building display screens. Display screens (2 or 3 pages) are fast updating but the more screens you build the slower the updates.Diagnostic ability is questionable. My displays are showing my Cat is running 100/200 degrees colder on the discharge. That is telling me my O2s or Cat has got problems. Diagnostic should not have passed the test... I will have to call them up and ask why?

I have previously purchased another Bluetooth adapter for my car. I've had it for many years, but decided to go in for an upgrade. I selected this unit because the website for the app that I use on my phone, called torque, said that this was a well-rated unit and was compatible with the application. The device comes with its own software to scan your car's computer for error codes and to run Diagnostics as well as being able to monitor various sensors. However, it is compatible with other third-party applications. My old adapter used a preset 4-Digit pin for pairing. This unit does not. You will be required to install their application in order to do the initial pairing with your phone. From there, you can continue to use their application, which is Well Suited for diagnosing and logging data from your car. However, in my case after I paired the device I was able to go into the application I prefer and it had no problems retrieving data from the car's computer.

I bought this ten years ago but after much use and abuse it eventually died. I bought it for the diagnostic ability but used the operational feedback semiregularly. The general OBD functionality is typical of other OBD tools but with the vehicle specific upgrade it unlocks much more information. That upgrade saved me many hours and identified more than one problem I would not have been able to without it. Monitoring live actions in real time is helpful.

It's easy to use—plug and play. However, an ODB to 10pin adapter is required for older BMW bikes that you can also purchase on Amazon. The advantage of this scanner is that it not only supports BMW motorcycles but can be used for all other applications where ODB II protocol is called for.

Jammer.

Great, still running now. The auto-low power and wake-up is a real 12v battery preserver!

I bought this tool to read the check engine codes on my truck and was amazed at how much more it can do. I am using the free app that comes with the OBD Link but it also works with several other well rated apps that can be purchased for less than $10 each. The instructions are a bit sketchy and they could do a better job referencing the settings menu (phone or app) which I found confusing when trying to sense the Bluetooth device. This is critical because you only have 2 minutes to walk through several steps in the setup to get it right and the instructions are almost useless for that. FYI - If you are using the free app take note that the Settings screens they refer to are within your phone settings first and then later they will refer to the app setting. Be prepared to push the reset button on the OBD Link often to avoid the 2 minute timeout, which is noted in the instructions. It was also a bit quirky and confusing to get the free app software code properly identified.Shipping Packaging: Amazon got it delivered quickly and well protected.Product Packaging: Well protected with a simple but limited instruction sheet. It would be better if they added a more robust set of instructions online to make the installation process less stressful. The code to download a PC version of the application also provided.Overall opinion: I would buy this device again and leave one in each car to monitor the computer feedback such as water temperature and battery charging level which is more accurate than the dash gages. Why spend $70 for this device instead of generics for less than $15? Simple, it does not remain a drain on the battery as the cheaper versions and it can be left plugged into the car without concern. It also comes with a decent app that would be a $10 standalone and the comparative ratings by other Amazon reviewers far exceeds the cheaper versions.Ratings:Product, packaging and shipping: 5 of 5Instructions and setup: 4 of 5 (upgraded my rating following quick reply from the support team)Overall: 5 of 5 (upgraded from a 4 because the support team addressed the install issues promptly)
