I used this for a 2001 Buick Century. It was a little tricky, I had to hold it at weird angles so it wasn’t pulling straight, and that’s just because of the subframe of the Buick getting in the way. It did work though paired with a slide hammer and got both sides out. You might be able to rent it at AutoZone, but I will just keep this for the future. I did rent the slide hammer from them for free to use with this attachment

Removed driver side axle on Ford Focus after only 5 hits with a small slide hammer. Very happy. have used wedges on other Fords and this is the way to go

I usually use the big pry bar method, but sometimes you come across those very stubborn shafts. Just got in mail, initial thoughts are ... it is thick, much thicker than anticipated, in the pic it looks thinner. I can predict this will be a major downfall with tight clearances. I used a much thinner one in the past that worked flawlessly in tight clearances, but it was the dealer sst. Maybe due to the cheaper material it had to be this thick to keep its durability? Also the 2 fingers angles out slightly near the edges which I felt it was kinda pointless, just adds to having the need of more clearance between the outboard joint and case. I’m sure it’ll work fine on certain vehicles, for 20-30 bucks might as well keep it and use it whenever possible.

Great tool, great price, but I did have to take my die-grinder and widen the jaw for it to fit over the front axle shaft I was trying to 'pop' out of the transmission, but other than that the tool fits perfect on my professional U.S made slide hammer and it worked perfectly.

I replaced both front CV axles in my Kia Rondo recently. I read that using a slide hammer and one of these attachments made things a lot easier, but decided to try it without (basically just being a cheapskate). I spent nearly an hour getting the driver's side axle out, with plenty of knuckle scrapes in the process. So I caved and ordered one of these to use on the passenger's side axle. That axle I was able to remove in 5 seconds, and felt like a complete idiot for not using this on the driver's side. Well worth the money for the amount of frustration it will save you.

Used for a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. I've struggled (and always failed) removing the half shaft using other methods (pry bars, hammer, etc.) With about 10 whacks of the slide hammer and this device the half shaft came out. I did try it on another, previously removed half shaft (with shaft from differential still attached) and was unsuccessful.Seemed to be well made out of metal you would find on impact sockets. It nicely fit around the inner CV joint. I did quite a bit of pounding with 5lb slide hammer and this attachment seemed none the worse for wear.

I was really struggling to get the drivers side driveshaft out of the transmission on our VW 2.5 Rabbit. I had played with it for days. Penetrant, pry-bars (concerned about cracking the case), wire ropes with sledge hammers and slide hammer with vice grips (which kept sliding off). I was getting concerned about ever getting that CV joint out...!After lots of research, I came across this tool and ordered it out of desperation as another reviewer said they had used it on a Rabbit. I used it with an OTC extension bar and a Neiko slide hammer. The other reviewer said he had to grind it down a bit.... he wasn't kidding...! I took the minimum off, but had to grind the back of this tool down to almost half its original thickness on the prongs to get it to fit behind the CV joint. I was getting concerned it would be too weak now and break.Anyway, after achieving that, only three strikes and less than a minute and the stubborn joint finally popped out.... boy was I relieved..! The thinned out tool didn't break and performed admirably. My advice if struggling with a stubborn, stuck CV joint.... just buy this and save days of time...!

If you work on CV axles, you know you need this item. My local Auto Zone no longer carried this as a rental so I had to go purchase it. Not that expensive, and it is a solid item. This is used with the OEM 27033 slide hammer (5lbs). I tried first with my other (3lb) slide hammer but the threads did not match up so I needed the 27033 as well. The combination got the job done with minimal fuss.Highly recommended!

Perfect fit for the passenger side 4T65E (2005 Impala) Used it with the 3 Lbs Harbor Freight Slide hammer. Specifically used to pull the inner CV hub from the transmission. I had to be creative in trying to fit the puller in on the drivers side because the transmission cover on the drivers side has raised spots around the CV hub where the tool would normally fit. I had to work up from the bottom at a angle applying a lot of pressure to get this to do the job.Pros:Good constructionGood priceWorks for most CV inner hub pulling, even if it requires some level of creativity.Cons:Fitment for various applications may get interesting due to thickness.
