I’m so glad I got this T5 UVB hood/lamp combo! I needed a hood for a UVB light bar I already had, and this one fit perfectly. It was super easy to set up, and the build quality is excellent. The light bar snapped right in without any hassle, and the whole setup feels sturdy and secure.The performance is fantastic—the hood reflects the UVB light evenly across the enclosure, providing great coverage for my reptile. It’s been working flawlessly, and I couldn’t be happier with how well it complements my existing light bar. If you’re looking for a reliable hood for your T5 UVB, I highly recommend this one! It’s a great value and does exactly what it’s supposed to.

I tried all three mounting methods with this particular light, and the only issue I have with it is that, since the bulb is unprotected, pets can potentially climb into the housing while the light is off (as I believe they wouldn't attempt it with the light on) and then potentially end up with UV burns if the light comes on automatically. While that's a bit of a long-shot possibility, I'd say if you were using this particular set-up with a tropical application, perhaps an extra tall tank where a tropical bulb won't produce enough UV to reach the bottom layer and so you opt for a stronger bulb, it could be a possibility. Otherwise the range of transmission is pretty normal (not sure what they're talking about with 200% transmission) and the bulb and housing are both of an acceptable quality if just a little lightweight.

Seems like good quality. However was super excited for it. It was not sent with any mounting brackets or even cords. Bulb was broken. Amazon did issue an order exchange right away.

We got the larger one and were surprised at the length and the extreme packaging (though we were getting a pair of skis!) One of the brackets was missing but we simply laid it across a reptile tub. It also comes with brackets for permanent fastening. Hope the bulb lasts a long time.
