I use this with the ground mount and the lock from the same company. May not be an alarm, but makes me feel insanely safe.

Although this chain appears similar to other well-known brands on the market and the description indicates the "Sold Secure Gold" approval in 2020 for bicycles, I have confirmed with a Sold Secure representative that OKG has not kept up with the required annual renewals to maintain their products' security ratings. This makes me wonder whether the theft-deterrence level is still the same as four years ago, or has the material and/or manufacturing quality cheapened since then.

Haven't used it yet, but this is one very stout chunk of chain.

This chain lock is very very heavy. It works for me because I have an ebike + rear rack & milk crate so I can just throw it in there. But I would not want to use this for any other bike, even for an ebike without carrying capacity. It's very intimidating, thick, and bulky. Could still be angle grinded so best to pair with a different chain lock or another U-lock.This chain would be best secured with a small U-lock or closed shackle lock. Do your math. Did not fit in my Squire CP50 so had to return that.

I use this chain mostly to secure bicycles to a car hitch rack when travelling and parking... (or when the bikes are parked off the rack). While it's not been tested by an attempted theft and virtually no product is a sure bet against an electric cutoff tool (ex. with enough time and dexterity... one could cut through my hitch!)... this when attached with a security lock to my frame mounted hitch seems a quite strong theft deterrent!

QUALITY OF CHAIN IS GOOD. MY ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT AMAZON SAYING THEY GAVE IT TO A JOE AND THE BUILDING NEXT DOOR WHERE IT WAS DELIVERED IS A CLOSED BUILDING

This is a little less intense than the previous OKG bike chain I got but is still quite a beasts. I like to joke that they will have a harder time sawing through the bike post that trying to get through this chain... but in all seriousness, for most fences, that is probably true. This chain is incredibly heavy, strong and is definitely a big detergent to your average thief.I'm very impressed with it and like that it is sheathed as well. It looks clean and does a better job than bare metal at keeping this looking nice and neat over time

So ive owned quite a few security chains over the years from kryptonite forgetaboutit chains to pegaw security chains and this is in the top tier in terms of quality and value. This security chain has all the features, boron hardened steel with manganese coating(anti rust) and includes the typical soft sleeve to protect the paint on your toy. While i dont think the sleeve is typical kevlar which cloggs up cutting disks, it does offer a good amount of effort to remove since most thieves wouldnt try to cut it off before trying to cut it with a cutoff tool. The links themselves are hexagon shape, not square or circle and this gives the chain a larger surface area to deal with the forces of bolt cutters. While any chain is not impenetrable it will however give them a hard time and wont be able to cut it unless they carry a 36 inch set of bolt cutters around with them(highly unlikely). A traditional set of bolt cutters has zero chance against this chain.Overall its a great security chain, high quality and super strong. As with anything, you can never stop a dedicated thief so everything is merely a deterrent and its your job to make it as hard as possible for someone. Its all you can do.Anyone curious, they make the chains short because when your toy is locked up against something tight, it makes it harder for a thief to access it with a big set of tools since your toy is practically leaning against the wall/pole ect.

I would never call a bike chain "unbreakable", but this one is very close to that description. It would take an incredible, obscene amount of effort to cut through these, which means that the lock you decide to pair this up with better be as strong! The chain itself isn't rounded, but instead a hexagonal shape, which is ideal if you want to prevent bolt-cutters from getting to them easily.Around the chain is a fabric sleeve, which is great for protecting the paint on your ride. The cover is listed as Nylon and it can be removed for cleaning. The chain is thick - around the thickness of a finger - and it's got some weight to it. This may not be a problem if you have a cargo basket or paniers on your ride, but if you only carry a backpack then you will need to use caution as this much weight will shift your center of gravity. The length works great for my electric scooter, but think this would work just fine with most bikes too.Overall, the confidence boost when using this chain to lock up my ride is 10/10. I no longer worry about the chain being broken, but now I have to find a lock to match this level of security!
