The bike lock is excellent and long enough for my needs. I really like the feature that allows you to hide the keyhole for extra security. The material covering the chain feels thick and durable—it hasn’t torn yet. The brand name remains visible along the chain, and the key turns smoothly without getting stuck.I also appreciate that the key cannot be removed unless the lock is fully secured, which prevents accidental unlocking.Unfortunately, the plastic part under the connector broke when I accidentally dropped it. However, this doesn’t affect the lock’s overall performance.

As I was researching bicycle chains, I was leery because I did not want to chain. That was not flexible and easy to store and use. After much consideration, I bought this chain, and I am extremely pleased with it. It is very easy to store, The fabric on the outside of the chain, makes it very gentle to handle and to use.

This chain is strong and very well made. I use it to lock up my mini golf cart. Works great.

Looks and feels solid! The quality certainly seems to be there, very easy to install, fits easily around the bike frame and bike pole/rack. If taken care of, I anticipate significant rust resistance. The cloth material seems to be durable; cannot say much about color vibrancy of the cloth part, seeing as a I ordered black. Note: it is a chain, so it is a little heavy.

Bad quality lock, the locking/unlocking mechanism is not consistent. I've had the lock for around 8 months now and it's begun fully failing. It has not been working as intended for most of its use so far.Edit: The replacement lock has arrived and it works great, just as I remember the original working at first. I hope that it holds up and that the first one was a fluke. I’ll further edit this if the replacement begins to break as well.

EDIT: I would still buy, It’s been over 6 months now (EDIT: about 6+ months in and the nylon chain cover has become detached from one end of the chain. It’s not a huge deal or very noticeable at all and can be glued back in easily. Highly recommend for people who don’t want to #1 overpay for a lock, 2 you’re in a large city or on campus and NEED a warranty if you’re parking in unsafe areas often Kryptonite has warranties but I don’t live in a large city and don’t park my bike on university campuses or downtown often and have faith in this chain. I would maybe bring extra locks if I did go downtown just in case for front wheel but the 12” chains are an excelllllent size for preventing thieves from snapping the lock as easily for a great price. Also I love the key feature. It works great and has a backup. Unless you come across a lock picking expert or someone with a giant saw you’re pretty safe imo. The locking mechanism is great and so simple to use. It unlocks very easily with just a twist. The lock cover is great for dirt and debris but I usually wear my lock cover easily around my shoulder or waist or sometimes my bicycle it’s not too heavy and a perfect length to lock my frame and rear tire. It’s also quite thick to deter any thieves, encased in nylon which prevents any scratching, and another deterrent (edit: one side of the nylon has detached but not the end of the world). I would definitely buy this again. It’s not too big take Carrie and not too small to not deter a criminal. It’s perfect compared to the insane price of some locks. Some of those lock costs 10-15% of my bicycle.I also recommend buying an apple AirTag hidden, cheaper combo than many kryptonite locks. 80-90% of bicycles are never recovered.

So like, you get two keys, right? Well that's great 'cause now I need more anyway. The quality of the keys are astonishingly terrible. First of all, when I first opened the lock, the key got jammed, which I assumed was a problem with lock mechanism itself. After about 20 minutes of trying to break it free, it opened after I twisted the key out of place with my teeth. Yup, that's right. I twisted the key, the metal part for crying out loud, with my bare teeth. That's so bad bro, like I am still baffled as I think back about when it happened. So if for whatever reason some dude wants to steal your bike, a pair of pliers on the keys is all that is needed for a free new bike (a pretty unconventional way of stealing one, but I mean if the quality is so bad it works, I guess the company is more at fault than anything (why are the keys on the lock in the first place? Well because they got jammed: that's why)). Okay, so that's the key—what about the rest? Well, it's short. Like, really short considering it's a bike chain. My bike is about medium size for an adult, and I struggle securing it at the bike stops they have at your local supermarket. The chain literally only wraps in and out the wheel, which again, makes it super easy to steal, defeating the purpose of having a bike chain in the first place (So that's a no-no for anyone with a really large bike out there). Then it's heavy, which I suppose is a good thing, except that the textile that surrounds the actual chain gets weighed down enough to get caught in the bike chain mechanism and lunge me forward into the concrete as I'm speeding downhill on a suburban street (and in case you wanted to know, yes, it did hurt). Finally, I wasn't actually gonna complain about this, but given that there's barely anything positive about the lock I'll become fixated about this too: the lock itself is not the safest lock out there. Like I haven't tested this out (because I mean, I want to at least have a functional bike lock with me), but I'm more than sure that a few good impacts with a hammer or even the concrete ground will break the lock away from the chain. Everything but the lock itself is heavy duty, (the lock is made with probably the cheapest plastic known to man), which absolutely annihilates the purpose of attempting to make the chain heavy duty in the first place. You think a robber is gonna rob your bike by cutting the chain with his handy, portable, 6-ton plasma cutter? No, he's gonna do so by smashing your lock open, which he can absolutely do with this lock. Overall, It could have been worse. It does look nice, which is like the only positive thing I can say about it, so it's got that going for it
