Great purchase, piece of mind.Do not waste your money on a wrist monitor, this one is more accurate. I calibrated this one with my cardiologist and it was spot on.

I've had this for years and it still works. It SEEMS to read a little high (compared to what the nurses read manually) BUT, my doctor says that it's more important to catch changes than worrying about the pressure readings off it.The good news is this thing read really consistently. So if the nurse says my pressure is fine, I'm good as long as the cuff doesn't see any drastic changes.

I'm not a doctor, but I am a scientist. My biggest requirement in a BP monitor is accuracy (how close readings are to a doctor or nurse using a manometer and a stethoscope (the "gold standard"). I tested three Omron units, including this one and two older models I had on hand. Each reproduced their own readings fairly well (good "precision"), but didn't match the doctor and his stethoscope (which was always lower) or the doctor's automatic unit (which was sometimes higher). Thus they were all "precise", but not "accurate." I tried this with two different doctors offices and multiple readings at each. The biggest accuracy issues were at the higher readings. They all seem to do well at the low BP end. The units were all quite accurate for measuring heartrate (but that's a pretty easy task and not very important). My basic conclusion is that these home units aren't as accurate as I would like, but probably accurate enough for keeping track of trends and for knowing when you're too low or too high. Just accept that this isn't a scientific instrument. Its accuracy seems to be on the order of plus or minus 10-12 mm of mercury for the systolic (top) reading, maybe plus or minus 3-6 mm of mercury for the diastolic (bottom) reading, and plus or minus 1-2 beats on the pulse rate. That's all they're designed to do. Read up online or watch YouTube videos on how to use these instruments. You should average three measurements taken a few minutes apart. If two are very close and one is way off, I just average the two closest. These units are mainly just aids to knowing when to get help. Finally, this one seems to do as well as the more expensive units I compared it to, so it may be a good choice if you don't need the advanced features (an AC power supply, storing a large number of readings along with date and time, etc.). I log all the average measurements, so I don't depend on the machine to do it. I also like the small size of this unit, which makes it convenient to take along on trips. It's always a good idea to take your unit to a doctors office and check how well it reproduces their readings, but don't expect it to be perfect; plus or minus 10-12 mm of mercury for the top number is about all you can expect. Maybe that's good enough.

This blood pressure cuff is the MVP of my home health kit. It’s like a tiny personal trainer for my arm—supportive, consistent, and just a little too enthusiastic. The SetupPutting it on feels like shaking hands with an overachiever at a networking event—firm, secure, and determined to impress. The Velcro sticks just enough to make you feel confident it’s not going anywhere, but not so much that you’re fighting for your life to readjust it.The InflationAh, the inflation phase. It starts with a gentle squeeze, like a polite "How do you do?" Then it ramps up, and suddenly, you’re in a friendly competition to see who will give up first—you or your arm. Spoiler: the cuff always wins. But hey, it’s all in the name of accurate readings! The ResultsThe display is clear and easy to read, which is great because after the “hug of health,” I like to know it was worth it. The numbers? Spot on. And the best part is that the cuff feels so professional, I’m half-expecting it to offer lifestyle advice after each session. The PositivesReliable readingsQuick inflation (and deflation—it doesn’t linger awkwardly!)Gives your arm a workout without making you break a sweatVerdict:This blood pressure cuff is like that overly enthusiastic friend who drags you to the gym—it’s a little extra, but it cares about your well-being and wants the best for you. Five stars for being both functional and unintentionally hilarious.

The OMRON Bronze Blood Pressure Monitor offers a simple and straightforward way to track your blood pressure at home. The upper arm cuff design provides accurate readings, and the digital display is clear and easy to read. Its ability to store up to 14 readings allows for basic tracking of trends over time. While it lacks advanced features like Bluetooth connectivity or smartphone integration, its focus on essential functionality makes it a reliable and affordable option for those primarily concerned with accurate and convenient blood pressure monitoring.
