Just got this cat feeder and quickly set it up. Wish I'd realized there was an updated version with WiFi and an app for just a bit more. Honestly, though, this more basic model seems to do everything you need it to and is extremely easy to set up and program. I applaud the user interface design team for implementing an interface that allows you to perform all setup and programming with a scroll wheel and a single button. If you're gifting this to an older relative who isn't very tech saavy, this more basic model is probably the one to get. I'm using it with Purina Cat Chow, which has oddly shaped kibbles. Hoping that doesn't increase the chances of a "jam" in the feeder shovel. Guess I'll find out soon enough. For now, though, I'm happy. I've only done a couple of automated feedings to date, but it's performed them well with no issues. I do have the unit plugged in, but I do suspect it would run for a decent amount of time on just the three backup "D" cells... probably months.

I got this pet feeder for my two kittens in the hopes it would help me with rationing their dry food. I have to admit that being of the generation that didn't grow up with technology, it took me a few tries to get the hang of setting it up. I now realize it was not as difficult as it seemed in the beginning (as is the case with most things!) but the lack of clear, step-by-step written instructions made it more difficult for me. There is a video available from info provided in the user manual, but it wasn't very helpful. I hope the manufacturer will consider adding written, step-by-step instructions to the manual. I think it would be most helpful to many of us. The size of the unit is great -- it holds 3L of dry food -- and dispenses it with no problems so far. While there is no alarm that sounds when the unit dispenses, it honestly isn't needed since the sound of the dry food landing on the stainless steel dish makes a sound your pet will definitely hear! My only negative for this unit is that the desiccant packet that's installed in the top of the unit (to keep the food fresh) is supposed to be replaced monthly. Even though there is a label in the desiccant holder giving the web site for getting more packets, they aren't available on the site. I then chatted with a customer service rep who transferred me to an outside chat agent who was going to charge $1 to refer me someplace else to purchase the packets (and my $1 would be refunded) -- I just disconnected from the chat. Instead, I searched Amazon and found some that I've ordered and hope will fit the holder of this feeder. It would be really nice if the manufacturer would make the extras that must be used with their products easily available through Amazon -- and show them for sale on the product page. All in all, I think this pet feeder will be very helpful with managing my pets' dry food and believe it is a good value for the price. It appears to be a good quality item, so should last a long time.

Very easy to program. Food seals and is cat proof. Shorter in height so the cat can’t knock it over. Has rubber sweepers inside so pieces of food don’t fall out when the cat attacks it. I have a bad cat, and the machine has completely put a stop to his badness. Very satisfied.

I like this feeder for the most part. It was packed very well. It has a nice stable base design, stainless steel bowl, and desiccant pack for food freshness . It runs off USB power as primary and 3 D-cell batteries as backup. The feeder end of the USB cable is a 90 degree type and may be proprietary, which I hate, but I do not have another 90 degree USB cables to try with it. A more widely used straight USB type C connector would have been recommended. I really like the large size D type of battery choice. D-cells last a longer than smaller C, AA and AAA types. This is a daily feeder so you can only choose feedings, up to 6, for one day. This model does NOT have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth so time and feeding programming is manual via a jog wheel/display on the front. I actually prefer this manual-type method. Too many things in the home require the internet nowadays to even use, which I stay away from. Larry and Sergey don't need to know how many times I feed my pet a day.I unplugged this feeder from power and without batteries in it to see how well it would withstand a power outage. After a few hours of being unplugged, it still retained all it's programming, although it won't dispense food without power or batteries. An all around decent automatic feeder.
