Works great, perfect sizes. Easy to use, rice does not stick to molds. Paddles work great- no sticking!

No, these will not make you into a Japanese master of onigiri. Yes, you’ll be able to make your own. What the description DOESN’T tell you is that you need to get specific rice to make these work properly. Try mochi grade or Japanese short grain rice. Your standard long grain jasmine rice won’t work as well and you’ll be writing angry reviews that these didn’t make you into a Japanese master onigiri chef. And yeah, those exist, and no they don’t use these molds. But you can. And you can make delicious onigiri snacks with these. So calm down Kohai, buy these, and enjoy. 5/5.

They're more for kids than for beginners, but it's pretty fun to play with them. My son used them to make a couple of rice balls. I didn't count them as sushi, but he felt he was good at making sushi.I will put them in the toy category other than tools; the material they used is a very solid material, and it should last for a long time. But I'm not sure how long it will keep us using them either; actually, we only used them for the first couple of times, and they stay in the drawer forever.

Onigiri Mold, Musubi Press Mold, 4 PackI wanted something cheap and easy to try some Musubi making and rice balls etc. This definately fits that request. The molds feel sturdy and the press fits the mold well. The spoons feel quite sturdy also. I don't see anything that could go wrong with these other than abusing them.

There is not much to say about these molds, but it's all good. They are easy to use, function as they should, clean up nicely, and allowed a very novice onigiri maker to produce some excellent rice balls.I loved the broccoli walnut filled rice balls which a local restaurant served years ago. Now that I've had to retire, I'm trying to recreate that recipe. While I haven't gotten it quite right yet, I've had fun trying. These molds have helped tremendously, especially since I have a neuro condition in my hands which makes rolling rice balls difficult. These molds make the process easy and the results pleasing to the eye. Get a set, look up some rice balls recipes, and have some fun.

These are well built and will do great onigiri. My only issue is with the largest triangle mold. The gap between the wall of the mold and the press is wider than all the rest. This will allow for some overflow around the gap for rice. It won't be horrible or cause problems for you, but it would be nice to get the same tighter tolerances the other molds have. Other than this very minor concern they are great. All in all I recommend.

All pieces of this set are made of plastics. This is a sturdy form of plastic that normally does not bend, so long as they are used for thier intended purpose, and handled with reasonable care and strength during use. They are fairly easy to clean as well, since the few surfaces in contact with the rice that have patches of very small raised food gripping bumps on them are so small that they don't really effect typical dish washing methods. At least not that I've found. Though I suppose the type of food prepared with this set would also contribute to ease or hardship of such cleaning. There are 2 rice paddles, both the same size and somewhat small, which are about the size of a typical dinner spoon. This makes sense because of the size of the moulds. The paddles work well enough for this task. Then there are 2 shapes of rice moulds included in this set. There is 1 rectangle shape and 3 triangle shape moulds. The triangled ones are each a different size. All moulds also have a plunger that perfectly fits it's size and shape. Using these moulds, any or all of them, is quite easy, too. Just put the rice in the mould, along with any other desired ingredients, and use the plunger from the top to push down and compact the rice into a moulded form.In addition, please note that while this process alone is indeed quite easy, user success still depends on choice of recipe, ingredients, rice prep, know-how, and skill. As a rice mould beginner, I did have troubles with the nori wraps, but that is my own learning issue, and not in any way an issue or flaw of this mould set.5 out of 5 stars.
