Ordered this, installed it, took my bike out for a spin to thankfully notice that my front wheel was at an angle before it was too late. The wedge didn’t tighten enough in the steerer tube, allowing for the bars/stem to become loose while riding. Super sketchy, doubled checked the specs to make sure it wasn’t a problem on my end.EDIT: don’t place the stem all the way down in the steerer tube. Some bikes might have a little play towards the bottom end of the steerer tube. The stem should come out a bit, but not past the max as signified on the stem. Just make sure to rigorously test that it’s tight before riding.It’s a fine product.

Bought bamboo handle bars and the 30 year old stem was too small, this seems sturdy and will last for another 30.

Bought one of these to install on my dad's old 90s MTB (a 1996 Trek 750 Multitrack) in order to "modernize" my cockpit with a newer 700mm MTB handlebar and make it more comfortable when I upgraded my shifters, and it fit like a glove. Liked it so much that I bought another for my mom's 1999 Trek 720 Multitrack, and it looks and feels incredible. Would absolutely recommend this for any bike restorations.

Needed this for a older frame. Matched the color of a Tange Falcon threaded headset. Fits and works without creaking or noticeable flex. No instruction on Torque settings.

I can't say enough about Origin 8 products. They are by no means the TOP of the line, but they offer something for everyone at a very reasonable price, and I've yet to have anything fail between brakes, rear racks, everything I've tried on updated conversions. This stem was exactly what I was looking for to convert my old Specialized Stumpy/Judy Shock over to the current handlebars, and made my life a ton easier switching between different styles of bars until I found the rise I liked. However I did put a small plastic sleeve around the top of it to make the female/male fit a little tighter, I actually used the white plastic piece that came with/on this and modified it slightly to fit with a knife as a sort of internal bushing. Would buy again, and probably will buy again!

So I purchased this for my 2018 Kent 29'r Flexor Large full suspension bike. The quill adapter looks great , great quality construction and install was a breeze. See pics... This will now allow me to install 31.8 circumference/ wider modern bars.

I have a Huffy bike the I bought used and am fixing up and I hated the handle bars so I bought a new set. Well, the new set had a 31.8 mm tube so I couldn't use the old neck......Origin 8 to the rescue!!! All of the questions about whether it will fit a cheapo bike are answered right here! If you want to customize your Huffy and buy a 31.8mm handlebar this is what you want. The photos are of the 110mm length FWI
