I'm not entirely sure who this kit is aimed at, because anyone who has a saxophone will already have a mouthpiece, reed, etc etc.But having given this a try, I would say that what it amounts to is a decent upgrade from the typical accessories that are usually provided with a low cost instrument ordered from the internet. I purchased such a saxophone a few years ago, and, while the instrument itself was not bad at all, as I fully expected the mouthpiece was pretty poor, and the reed was only useful for firewood, so the first thing I needed to do was order some better ones separately, from what I hear this is not uncommon. However, this kit represents a definite improvement on what you could expect to get as 'standard' with a low cost instrument, the mouthpiece is good, with a bright tone, and a small tip opening, comparable with other well known types. The (single) reed is the filed type, there is no marking on it to indicate strength, but I would say it's light to medium, and it plays OK. The rest of the accessories are fine, the ligature and cap are strong enough and fit securely, the little cushion pads for the mouthpiece stick well and do the job. A single reed isn't going to last forever, of course, so it would have been better if the kit had included more than one.All in all it's quite a good little kit, useful for someone who is just taking up the instrument.
