These are cute pins with cartoon faces and bodies of dogs. My main concern is that the pins on the back are the spring-loaded type which are not reinforced to remain in place and can pop out of the slot. This could pose a danger to young children. I prefer a more substantial locking pin backing. I did like the film covering to keep the pins shiny until used.While I did receive 16 pins, they were not 16 unique pins as shown in the ad. There were two of the same design. Ironically, the white furry Samoyed/Eskimo dog was the one missing, which is the breed I have and one of the reasons I selected this set.
