I've been looking for a simple grommet solution for video meetings and other WFH backgrounds and hoped this might be it. Having used (and been used to) the old metal versions, I couldn't be happier!!Everything was accounted for and using was MUCH easier than the older, metal versions that I'm used to!! Mark out where you'll want your hole with a dot, make your hole with a circle cut (but a wee bit smaller than needed -- I prefer a snug fit if you can help it), stick the piece with the post through first, place the end cap and hammer down lightly to close. Boom!!While I like it for my use (light weight photo background), I don't know that I would trust these to heavy-duty or high-tension use -- like, say, a tarp or sun shade/awning or such. I'd be too concerned they'd crack between the tension or consistent temp/sun uv exposure. However, they get the job done for me and that's worth the rating.

These came in handy when I wanted to make lobster bibs for my family Seafood Fest. I took inexpensive cloth dish towels an added the grommets and ribbons. Perfect for the entire family, older generation as well as the little ones. Some did come off in my dryer after washing, but easy to reinstall. I may have not attached two of them securely. I purchased more to make more bibs as my family increases. Also great for those that are outgrowing regular bibs but want to be more grown up.

While these are easier than metal grommets, they are a lot bigger and clunkier too.I thought I would use these a lot more than the metal ones for quick projects, but I find myself still preferring metal. It is a fair bit harder to bang the metal ones on, but the end result is both sleeker and more robust making the extra effort worth it in my opinion. That said, this product does what it says, and it's good enough to get the job done. I can't knock it for being what it claimed to be... I just thought I'd like it more. Turns out the bulkier blue plastic (as opposed to a sleek shiny metal) irritates me more than I thought it would. It's mostly an esthetic critique, but mixed with a little lack of robustness....so it just depends on you. These might be the perfect thing for you (especially if you hate pounding metal grommets in).

I was a bit surprised when I received these grommets. They are a thin plastic that will not hold up to much tension without cracking or pulling apart. I was thinking that they were threaded together but it is just a click and attach which causes them to unsnap again with too much pressure. The size of the hole is a little bit too small for attaching a bungee ball cord in. I do like the inner grip bad that keeps the tight to the fabric tarp that we are using them on. I would have probably consider a 4 star if the quality and ease of application was a bit better.

Sometimes something so simple just WORKS like you want it to. These Plastic Snap Grommets are so needed and easy to install.I've got several greenhouses that I use for growing vegetables and herbs, and I keep my plants inside to keep the pests, animals, and birds off the plants. I use shade cloth during the summer to keep the intense hot sun and heat from directly burning my plants, and I needed a way to tie-down the shade cloth that holds it in place securely.I'm used to tarps and outdoor cloth that have brass grommets, so these Plastic Grommets were a first for me. I am pleasantly surprised at how easy to install on cloth and how secure they affix to the material you apply them to. The photos I've posted show a 40% shade cloth that is relatively thin material. The Plastic Snap Grommets handled this thin material with ease. So darn simple....separate the two halves of the grommet, place one under the cloth/material and one on top over the bottom one. I used a hammer, light taps, to secure the two halves together....they "locked" into place together. Then I used a knife to cut the hole in the opening for use. with ropes or wire to secure the shade cloth to my greenhouse.I got to thinking of the many types of thin material you could use these plastic grommets on....drapes, t-shirts, table cloths for a picnic, or just about any art project that you need a grommet.Who knew that these plastic snap grommets would work so well?VERY impressed with these. Looks like I'm going to need more.UPDATE : New photo of using these plastic grommets on a thick canvas tarp.I've got several thick canvas tarps I use for a privacy 'fence' to make a side patio more private and intimate and the metal grommets are coming out/off the canvas. I wasn't sure if this particular size of plastic grommet would work with such a thick material, canvas. YES, Yes they do. The old grommets were a thin metal and just pulled out of the hole, no longer there. I grabbed my box of Plastic Grommets and tried it out. Since the canvas is thicker, you will have to use for force when attaching the two pieces, front and rear, together. AND you will need to use some heavy hitting with a hammer to get the two pieces of grommet to "seat" on both sides of the canvas tarp. After a few forceful whacks of the hammer you could see that both pieces of the grommet securely attached themselves to the tarp.Pleasantly surprised that these plastic grommets could handle the thicker material. But THEY DID and looks like I'll be replacing the metal grommets once they too start failing.

When putting on the first two, I was discouraged and even put glue between so they would stay.......... BUT when I figured out how they really work, they are the best. A finger snap alone is not solid enough, I used a pair of vis grips to securely snap them together and what a great job. I was able to make my door for my tempo for this winter.
