This is a great way to add a general hotshoe attachment to the DJI Osmo Action Cam. It does seem to grip tightly (and includes a magnetic feature) but I am not sure if a very heavy item would remain in place. I plan to use it to support a wireless mic (also from DJI) so it should work fine.

I didn't actually know this existed but came across it while looking for better mounts. Now instead of using a full camera cage just to be able to attach a light I can use this. Love it!Well built and connects to the camera solidly.

This allows you to add a cold shoe to the side of the action camera cage. This looks nice.it match's the look of my cage. It hold lights and microphone receiver. I do like this addon clip.

Bought this for the occasional use of video lights but now I find it being used 90% of the time to hold the DJI Mic 2 which slips perfectly into the cold shoe.

I haven't got a lot of accessories specifically for my Osmo Action 4 camera. While I was very critical of DJIs decision to use a dedicated mount instead of a common one, I slowly got used to it.This cold shoe expansion kit is pretty cool. It lets you install a portable light or a mic on the side of the cage that comes with the DJI camera, and enhance your Osmo. At the same time it's on a quick release, which is the only benefit compared with using a cage with a cold shoe mount etc. It's a pretty important benefit though.The adapter is made of all-metal aluminum alloy, with a silicone top to prevent scratching the camera.The spring buckles work very well, as well as the really strong magnet. Once snapped on, there's little to no wiggle room, so your accessory will stay stable.£14 seems like a lot for an adapter like this, but in comparison with other similar products it appears competitive, especially if you consider the materials and good quality. I didn't realise how handy this would be until I realised you can fit the DJI Mic 2 into the cold shoe adapter.This now makes my Action 4 camera a vlogging hero as you don't have to have the mic on you and visible in shot if you don't want.The build quality is excellent, made of solid aluminium with a silicone grip pad, and the magnet is super strong.Obviously, you will need to mount this using the Osmo cage. The pictures show the Action 5 magnetising this item to the side without the cage on. Not sure if that is actually possible on the Action 5 and whether they have upgraded it. I doubt it as that portion is where the battery tray is, but I could be wrong.It's great value in my opinion at £13.99 based on how this unlocks new options for you, and because of the materials and build quality.

If you take your action cam out without a case, you are going to want an additional cold shoe mount. A cold shoe mount allow me to put a boom mic or to attach my mic receiver to the camera so it doesn't get damaged. This lets me mount the cold show to either the side or the base depending on how I'm filming. It seems ridiculous at first BUT this mount is lighter than putting a cage on the Action 5, and means I still can mount my mic. Awesome.It's also solid aluminum with the right amount of magnetic hold for the cam. It's easy to move and easy to mount.

Una zapata fría indispensable o al menos muy útil si quieres utilizar accesorios en la "Action" en mi caso para la 5 Pro. Para colocar un micrófono, o un foco viene genial.Construida la mitad en polímero que se siente de buena calidad, la parte de la zapata fría es de aluminio al igual que los enganches de color rojo.La parte que tiene contacto con la cámara tiene su correspondiente protección de goma.Pero... He notado que la zapata fría es algo "holgáda" y en mi caso algún accesorio si no tiene arandela de ajuste se cae... 🤔 En cambio aquellos que si llevan la arandela de ajuste queda perfecto.Aunque no lo he podio pesar, es muy muy ligero.Espero que las fotos te sean útiles.

In my opinion, one of the 'misses' in the design of the DJI Osmo Action cameras is the lack of any cold shoe attachment. There's nothing built into either the camera or DJI's protective frame. I suppose if you're just using the onboard mic, or don't need any supplemental lighting, that's not a huge issue, but it would be nice to have that option.This bracket solves that issue in a very easy-to-use manner. The bracket snaps easily and solidly onto one of the camera's mounting points, making a cold shoe available with minimal effort. It does have the advantage of being quick to both install and remove, so perhaps it's the best of both worlds... I have a cold shoe readily available if needed for an external mic or lighting, but it doesn't add any bulk to the camera for the majority of the time when I'm not using any external accessories.

This HAFOKO Osmo Action Cold Shoe mount is perfect for mounting an external mic or light to your action camera. With the right adapter, you can even mount it to the top of your DSLR camera. The magnetic quick release holds well to the DJI Osmo action camera and has very little play. I think this is a good mount to have in addition to the normal magnetic mounts and I highly recommend it!
