These kayak cleats work perfectly for the proper use given. I have had no issues with these cleats on kayaks. ( for tie downs , anchors, etc. ) I hear some guys complaining , because they are trying to tie up a River Jon boat, and have had some cleats break. They are not designed for that use ( use steel cleats not hard nylon ) These cleats are very tough to break on a kayaks, I have not had any break so far . By the way, they are designed to break before you rip your ( medium to small ) boats or kayaks apart. The right tool for the right job, problem solved.

I'm using these for a system of aerial ropes that I can lower and raise. These cleats were the perfect size. They seem durable and I would recommend these for jeep top hoists, flag poles, kayaks, etc.

These are inexpensive nylon cleats suitable for kayaks and small jon boats and are exactly as described. They did come with stainless steel bolts and nuts, but no washers. You will likely want to purchase either lock washers or nylon lock nuts instead of using the nuts provided.
