The picture makes it appear that tool has oblong holes with which to measure. It does not. They are round. That makes it practically useless to me. You can use the half-circles to measure but I can already do that with any measuring tool that comes with ostomy supplies. It is also made of sharp plastic which is a danger for causing cuts. This tool is of no use to me and not worth it at any price, let alone the expensive price it's listed at.

The "Ostomy Caliper Measuring Tool for Measuring Stomy Diameter" came very well packaged. At first when I got my colostomy, the stoma was very irregular and wish I had this tool. This tool has templates to measures irregulars so that you can cut the wafer according to the size.Normally you clean the area around the stoma before measuring, so there is practically no fecal waste. So the use of this plastic template is a good solution, especially to nurses who normally change the bags. It can be easily disinfected after every use.The plastic template is sharp and I noticed that I need to be very careful not to nick my stoma. Stoma has a lot of blood vessels and are easy to bleed. This is one of the cons with this product.At the high price of $19.99, at the time of this review, it makes more sense for professional to carry this item.
