Bought it as a back up for my original bought over a decade ago and still going strong, with just the screens push buttons showing symptoms of overuse during colder days. But as soon temps warm up its back to normal. A great controller overall! It arrived in original outback packing "floating" loosely around in an far too big and oversize box organized by the Australian agent.

This replaced an old Midnite Classic, which is still operational after 20 years. However I upgraded my entire system. I was shocked at how fast they shipped this to Hawaii, saving me over $200 from the local supplier here.

I like how you can program it to run anything you want. 12 volt up to 48 volt battery banks. Also you can modify the settings to charge lithium batteries. This machine does it all.

I have smoked several cheaper charge controllers by hooking them up to my 6 panel- 325-watt each- setup that is wired in series- with the output being over 125 volts. This unit handles my systems output with no problems and records a lot of data while performing daily. This OUTBACK brand - 80 amp-controller is top quality and easy to program with excellent instructions that are easy to follow. Very well- made and functions great with my system. Excellent find that keeps a 24 volt- 8- CR 430 amp/hr. batteries system-fully charged without over charging. Highly recommend for off- grid- remote cabins.

Outback ain’t cheap but it works beautifully.Actual human tech support out of Washington State!Tried several other MPPT which were rich in in display features, but were glitchy and impossible to get support on the other side of world.Then I was told about Outback.A game changer. My batteries are charged better and last longer.The tech phone support to get you started is excellent.The optional add ons are not needed unless you have more money to spend.The Outback MPPT does its job seamlessly and super efficiently!
