This doesn't cook the bacon evenly and only does a few slices at a time. Not worth the money.

I like to try new grill stuff, I have many grills and just enjoy all these cool gadgets coming out.And when somebody throws out a better way to cook bacon, sign me up!Pros:1. Well built, solid2. Takes only half of my grill (weber silver)3. Cooks enough for a family to top burgers4. no flare ups due to grease catching skillsCons:1. Sort of odd on the grill, it sits funny and takes up a good half of it2. Cooks at a different temp then I would normally cook a burger (lets face it that is what I 95% of the time would use this for)3. Single function, I guess you could cook zucchini on it tooOver all, It functions as it states, though you have to keep the temp very low or it burns the bacon. It was a pain to clean up, I tend to grill stuff so there is less clean up, the drip trays are scrub hazards. I prefer using the cast iron griddle I got for one side of my grill over this, scrape and call it a day.

This is a very simple product, but at the same time is clever in its design. The peaked shape of the bacon grill rack is extremely effective at keeping the strips of bacon in place without slipping. The width allows for six "standard" bacon slices without any overlap, this ensures they all cook evenly. The grease traps at each side of the unit have more than enough capacity to capture all the grease that comes off the bacon during cooking without any running over and flaring up. We use thick cut bacon from a local butcher and this means there is a lot more bacon on the grill - even with this super thick bacon we didn't run over, but we were close, so I would tend to stay at four or five strips at a time.Once the bacon was 90% done I was able to transfer strips to our upper grill to keep them up to temperature, and as most of the excess fat was now removed they hardly dripped anything to the grill, this allowed us to have more bacon 'on reserve' than the six strip capacity.I only have positive things to say about the performance of this device for cooking bacon - it is excellent. With that said there is one awkward characteristic, and that is draining the two grease bins. Since there are two it is hard to pour it in to our 'fat jar' that we usually drain bacon fat to. The solution we went with is to have two jars - and we had to just line up with the two jars and carefully pour both at once. Alternatively you could drain in to a small pan, and from there do a single pour. Not a big deal, and still far easier clean up than trying to barbecue bacon directly on the grill.Overall verdict?Great product, who doesn't love bacon; this makes preparing bacon on the grill a pleasure.I recommend this product.

Does what it was meant to do. It cooks bacon and does it well. I was surprised by how evenly it cooked the bacon. The ends were not burnt at all and the middle of the bacon was cooked the same as the rest of the strip. This takes up about half of the grill space on a 3 burner barbeque (1st picture). The grease trays do a great job of capturing and containing the grease. I did not have a single flareup while cooking the package. The cooker holders between 4 and 6 strips of bacon. The bacon I was cooking was cut wider than average so only 4 strips fit at a time (see 2nd picture). As far as the non-stick surface goes, it was pretty good as well. There were occasions where a small part of a strip would stick, but separating from the cooker was easy when time to flip the bacon. This cooker is high and I didn't think I would be able to close the lid of the barbeque with the warming rack installed but surprisingly I could, and the rack did not contact the bacon. This really helps to get a nice crispy even cook on the bacon. The major downside to this is the clean up (reason for 1 star deduction). I was not able to clean this to a state of "like new" (see pictures 4 and 5) after a significant amount of time trying, but in the end it is pretty clean. The underside becomes quite black from the barbeque. Whatever you use to scrub this with will likely have to be discarded (was completely black when done). Cleaning the catch trays is also a bit of a task. You need something wide you can first pour the grease into, and then pour from that to a jar/can. I used a large cake pan...which then had to be cleaned as well. The entire family liked the way the bacon tasted (had a bit of a BBQ flavor) and how it was cooked. Nice way to keep the mess from cooking bacon out of the house and/or not having to use the oven. It is a quicker way to cook than the oven too (20-25 minutes to cook a pound).

We use this a lot during the summer when we are grilling or using the smoker. Works better than others we have tried. Bacon does not stick, and it is a great way to make bacon on the grill.

The Outset Non-Stick Bacon Grill Rack has been a solid addition to my kitchen, even if it does leave the bacon with a bit of a weird bend. Despite the shape, the bacon still turns out crispy and delicious every time—except for that one time with some extra thick-cut bacon, but let’s just chalk that up to user error! The dual grease basins are a nice feature, but they can be a pain to clean out. It’s definitely not the easiest rack to store either if you’ve got a small kitchen like mine, since the shape is a little bulky. That said, if you’ve got the space and want a way to make tasty bacon without dealing with a ton of grease splatter, this does the trick.Pros: Cooks bacon evenly, non-stick surface, keeps grease contained. Cons: Awkward to store, tricky to clean grease basins, bends bacon.

I was rather sceptical of this product, but trying to cook bacon on the ol' BBQ has always been difficult. At least for me. I would usually try a old pie plate, but then I would get the odd small hole, which would drip fat down and start a flare-up. Or the bacon would just be swimming in fact. (I like crisp, rather dry bacon...) And, of course, any method takes up a lot of real estate on the BBQ!Well, friends, this product is different. I was concerned that the "solid" plate on the cooking surface, would somehow keep fat contained. Or that the fat would splatter everywhere! I was wrong. This unit works great! You can get about five to six strips of bacon onto the "cooker". And the strips go pretty much, edge to edge. The cooker is well balanced, so one you load it up with some bacon, it is easy to transport onto the grill. Nothing is going to fall down onto the burners, and your grill - the actual bars - stay the way they are. If they are cleanish to start, they will stay that way.I found that with two burners on "high", bacon came out the way I like it (crispy) in about six minutes. It is easy to clean? Well, not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The cooking surface cleaned up well with one of those green scrubbing sponges, and I up a small squirt into each fat catch tray with hot water, and after about 20 minutes, they flushed out well.Easy to store, not much to break(!) and easy to clean. For me, this means bacon on my burgers every time - it's so easy and takes up so little room! If you love bacon on burgers or on anything, you should consider this cooking accessory. Once tried, it will become a favourite feature of your BBQ cooking!

I love the concept of this bacon grill rack, because it crisps up bacon, without it sitting in a pool of grease when it's finished cooking. I tested it in the oven, using a baking sheet underneath and it was easy to use, and I didn't have to pat down the bacon to remove excess grease as I normally do after frying it up, since the grease slides down the sides of the grilling 'triangle'. Once the grease had cooled slightly, I tilted the grease catches into the compost bin to drain out, then tossed the rack into the dishwasher - no damage and it came out good as new!Overall, I'm very happy with the performance, and it will definitely be used when we open the grill for the season, though I will not use it in the oven again, because using a cookie sheet underneath it defeats the purpose.
