Ordered needle to used with metallic embroidery thread. Worked great. No thread breakage once I changed needles to this top stitch needle. Used metallic thread snd 2mm puff foam and it worked beautifully.

I was told to use topstitch machine needles when using metallic thread and slow machine speed down to prevent breakage. Also thread should come off from side, not off from the top. Seemed to work!

After watching a show about a woman who spent 40 years investigating needles and threads, I bought these. The woman explained how top stitch needles help avoid thread from shredding. That she used them for all her sewing. I tried them out and presto ! No shredded threads. Wish I had known about these years ago!!!
