I have found these to be of just medium quality sound wise and not the best constructed in-Ear Monitor Amplifier but at the current discounted price it is a good value for a cheap and starter level monitor, not for pro or gigging use though.

If you are using these with headphones, the volume is not very good. You can hear all ambient sound since there's not enough power in this device to really drive headphones. I tried it with earbuds and it's a lot better and about what you'd expect. The sound quality is just pure, clean signal. I played this through my Les Paul with P90s and it's very twangy even with most of the tone down. Most amps have a headphone jack and that is what I usually use. I can see the use for this is where you might have to play your electric guitar acoustically. Like in a public setting where you don't want to disturb others. I think it's fine in that environment. Now, at 33 bucks, you are getting into pocket amp range and that's probably what I'd go with since those too have headphone jacks.
