After much internet research, got the two spring set in hopes of getting more longievity out of the springs. The springs went in without much hassle. Watch MANY Youtube videos and listen to the one that has the most safety related hints. This can be DIY, but you MUST be very careful. If the spring on my other door breaks, I will be re-ordering this item.

These are good quality torsion springs (0.250, 2", 34) but they were not the same size as the old springs ( 0.218, 1.75", 31) and after I installed them I could not get the door to balance. Door would start lifting at about 22 quarter turns on both springs, and when I checked the door travel, the door would not travel fully up. Repair tech said my door (7-ft x 16-ft) was too light for both springs and only needed one. So, he adjusted the spring on the right side of the door (about 32-quarter turns) and the balance was perfect - manual lift and lower with full travel. We left the other spring on the right side installed with no tension. I was fortunate! Learn from my mistake. It worked out for me, since I didn't have to return the springs, and I have a backup already installed on the left side of the door should the right-side spring ever break! Do your research, and buy replacement springs that match the old ones as close as possible. I also like that these springs have a coating that eliminates the need to lube them every 6-months. 5-Stars

Great replacement spring. Easy to install. Instructions and tools provided. Being "home owner handy" is required to do the install. The product it self is great and works fabulous.Use the tensioning bars carefully, lots of stored potential energy.

Time will tell, but the springs seem to be good quality and we’re very straightforward to replace. The packaging needs to be more robust as the weight of the springs causes the flimsy cardboard box to break open. In my case, one of the torsion bars fell out and was lost somewhere along the delivery route due to the box ripping. I had an extra, so I was able to use the two springs without the second torsion bar. That said, the product seems great and I would purchase again if I needed to repair another garage door.

They seem nicely manufactured, but as noted by some other reviewers, one of the holes in both winding cones is too small in diameter to fully insert the provided winding rods. However, it's an easy fix, just run a 1/2" drill bit lightly/slowly down the hole, or use a dremel-like tool to ream it out a bit. I also recommend wrapping or marking the rods so you can confirm full insertion during winding/unwinding.The provided gloves are decent quality and fit my large hands. The instructions are adequate, but just barely. Watch some of the numerous videos of the process on YT. Because of the defect and "just okay" instructions I'm dinging one star.

Item was complete and of good quality. Had absolutely no problems installing this on my own. Good directions came with the kit as well as nice turning bars. I did watch a few YouTube videos in advance to make the process smoother as well. Price was fair, arrived quicker than I probably could have gotten a garage door technician out since spring broke on holiday weekend, and vendor had many choices of spring configurations. Don’t be too nervous on doing this yourself, I never once felt in danger of spring tension.

First thing about springs for your garage door needs to be covered by research to find the right springs for your door. You can’t use just anything. I made that mistake and ordered springs far too strong.A site called DDM completely educated me.I ordered the suggested set for my garage door (7 x 16. - weighs 220 pounds) and this set was 100% bang on perfect with 30.5 turns (they are quarter turns). Everything you need is in the kit. The springs, the turning rods, even gloves and instructions.I used the web/youtube to watch an install and went to work.Perfect.If you are handy and can turn a wrench or build things, you can do this job. Google and the web are your teachers and friends.Parts in this kit seem robust and I have zero doubt they will last a very long time.Completely satisfied with the results!5 stars.

One morning we went to open the garage door and heard the loud, dreaded... "TWAAANG!". This was the sound of one of the two springs snapping resulting in a door that had zero interest in opening. We called the "Call Us" number for garage door repairs and hearing how much the new set of springs was going to cost (advice: make that call sitting down...) decided to give it a go ourselves as the springs via Amazon were surprisingly reasonable . Upshot? These springs came with all the stuff we needed, including nice gloves and very clear instructions, and in about an hour we saved at least $250. Plus the springs were delivered very quickly. Zero complaints and would buy these springs from this supplier again.

Very pleased with these springs. I thought the quality was solid and they installed easily on the first try. I’m very methodical and detailed and made sure to follow directions from YouTube closely. Likely saved myself several hundreds of dollars without any delay. Very happy with the results!
