This light fixture is good and bright. The installation instruction is very poor when it comes to installing it from the side. It would be impossible to do the electrical installation from the side without cutting the wires inside the fixture or tampering the fixture enclosure. The instructions do not mention any of those procedures.The fixture should have wire terminals on top and inside, so that either one could be used.

Good luck trying to get into the side of this light with pipe even though it has knockouts. Designer never took into account all the different installations this fixture is technically rated for. It has knockouts for pipe but you need to destroy the fixture to get inside. 22 year electrician here. I ended up up throwing it out and buying a Lithonia Canopy light which fully swings open for easy access.

I'm a professional porcelain refinisher and do a lot of clawfoot tub restorations in my shop and need good light. Tried 2 and ended up with 8. Replaced all my tube florescent fixtures. Instant on, very bright, low power use. The cone of light is just fine with my 10 ft. ceiling. Highly reccomend for anyone who needs good lighting.

This light must be put on a dimmer switch because it’s BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN when on at 100% brightness. This light must have been the inspiration for “Blinded by the Light” by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band. We installed it on a small covered porch and we rarely turn it on. I can see it as a deterrent to temporarily blind would-be burglars but it’s really too bright for our purposes.

Used this light as a replacement for a florescent light in my garage. It makes a huge difference. Very easy to install. I cannot speak to outside use but I would definitely recommend this for garage use.

If you’re looking to brighten up a space, you’ve found the perfect light! I’m planning to add a dimmer switch to tone it down a bit. The installation is a bit of a hassle, but once it’s up, you’re set! Be sure to have wire connectors handy as none come in the packaging.
