Part works great and solved my fridge issue. Wasn't the exact fit as the mount needed trimming to fit in the slot in the fridge. More cross referencing numbers on any listing would help. The majority of this type of thermostat are interchangeable as long as the wiring is the same. Saved me $170 from OEM so I'm not complaining.

Bought this in March and it started having temp swings at the start of June. As of June 27th, it now doesn't cool the fridge at any setting. Junk, ordering a new one from another merchant.

The install went flawlessly and now my refrigerator/freezer doesn't thaw if I don't slam the door! (sticky switch causing it to not engage if the door was closed too lightly and the freezer would thaw) Probably saved me a few hundred $! It was easy enough to install that I believe anyone with a bit of mechanical knowhow would have no problem installing this.

An elderly friend had a 23 year old Frigidaire upright freezer and the thermostat part for it was obsolete with no replacement part for it.I saw that this part was similar to hers and purchased it hoping that I could DIY to make it work.Put it in, and it worked! Saved her $1000 on a new freezer. She’s happy and I’m getting baked cookies weekly!

My Kenmore Elite fridge started acting up after 22 years (Whirlpool side by side 50503990). It would work fine for about 2 days, then the freezer would stop freezing. If I turned the power off/on, or changed the freezer dial setting then it would work again for a couple days. i traced the problem to the freezer thermostat. Unlike most fridges, my fridge has two thermostats, one for the freezer and another for the fridge. The fridge thermostat worked fine. The issue was that the 3-pin whirlpool WP2203252 thermostat is no longer available anywhere. The fix was the WP2198202 2-pin unit. There are wiring diagrams and instructions on the internet for using a 2-pin thermostat in place of the 3-Pin. You need to make a jumper wire to connect the fridge and freezer hot wires together (in my case orange and orange/black). I studied the wiring diagrams intently and decided that the internet instructions looked correct and proceeded to make the jumper wire. It worked. The fridge and freezer temp settings work independently as before, and the defrost cycle works properly every 8 hours and the freezer fires back up after the heating cycle is complete. Since the 2-pin is a fridge thermostat (not a freezer thermostat) you'll need to turn the calibration screw as far to "colder" as it will go and then adjust the temp dial over several days to where you want it. Also the temperature probe is a bit shorter but is long enough to reach into the freezer to work. This 2-pin unit has the same double prong steel stem as the old 3 pin unit, however, the narrower prong is a bit wider than the slot on the plastic dial. It required a bit of filing and working back and forth on the plastic dial to fit. A bit of work but not too bad.

Would be perfect but 3 times I have used it and had to drill the factory fridge knob so that it would fit on to the shaft of these thermostats. The factory knob is too tight or maybe include a knob that fits

After thoroughly shopping around to see who had the cheapest price for the temp control (cold side) part I needed for my fridge, and this site by far was the cheapest. Most places wanted $87 and up, and I only paid $10.34 on this site. I was skeptical when ordering it. Upon receiving the part (a day early) also noting the part was VERY WELL made, I immediately began to install it. I am a female, and this is the first time I have ever installed this particular part, and I must admit it was pretty easy (and my fridge is still working)Overall, I am very satisfied and will definitely order from this site in the future if need be.

My fridge had been thawing a refreezing since I bought it. It went out last month. I thought it was this part because when he banged it it would start. So I looked at a website and they wanted $90 for it. I didn't want to spend that much on a 2003 fridge that I wasn't even sure was the problem. So I bought this one. I was not sure if it was this part or the defrost timer. I installed this part and the defrost timer started along with the fridge. I am so glad I found this part. It's been running better than before for a week now. The only issue, as others have stated is it is too big for the knob. We shoved ours on it just to get it on there and will take the drimel to it to hallow out the opening to fit the new part.

I have a 2-door stainless steel Whirlpool refrigerator, I was having problems with it defrosting and the compressor would just stop. I reset the thermostat controller inside the refrigerator by turning it all the way off then back on again and it would come back on, so I found out that it could be that my Control Thermostat maybe be bad so I replaced it with this part 2198202 and now my refrigerator is working properly, actually too cold, but I have not experienced anymore defrosting in the freezer.
