This jacket is of the typical, high quality one would expect from Pearl Izumi. This is a nice weight and is a good, relaxed fit that will cover a cycling jersey or everyday street clothes. The lack of a hood may be undesirable for everyday type attire, for cycling, it is appropriate. it is difficult to keep a hood on while riding. That being said, a hidden hood stowed in the collar would be a convenient addition. The high visibility color, good fit, and water shedding ability of this jacket make it one I would recommend for those who don't require a hood.

this is a quality shell that will keep the rain off.Being a bike jacket, it doesn't come with a hoodieIt's a tighter fit, so if you were to put insulation on, I'd recommend upsizing.

This is a nice, compact cycling rain jacket. My use for it is bike commuting to and from work, about 16 km (10 miles) each way. It's small enough that I can store it in my cargo bag. And, if rain is really imminent, it will tuck nicely in a jersey pocket. This jacket is cycling-specific though. General purpose rain jackets typically have a stow-able hood. This one does not. It feels like that's a part of the trade off for having something that's nicely compact when folded up. The high viz fabric is the usual "don't stare at it too long it will hurt your eyes" high viz. That's exactly what I want and expect if I need to ride in the rain. For the weight weenies among you, my size large weighs 197 g.

I was not expecting this color but having said that, the bright color stands out. It is effective when biking or walking in the elements. The waterproofing does a good job with the exception of getting me wet around the waist area due to it being too short.I feel the need for a small pocket or two, or maybe a redesign. The waterproofing is a let down by the lack of length to go over the tailbone area. Additionally, another redesign for a stowable hood. Kinda defeats the purpose of a rain jacket if you're still getting wet! Runs a tad small, so I went to the next size up.Bottom line, depending on your torso size this can either be really good or a potential not so good experience. I don't see the value here with the exception of the bright color which I was not expecting but ended up liking! Suggestions to the mfg as stated above, potential stowable hood and couple of small pockets to store phone or keys.

As with most Pearl Izumi stuff, if you are on the border of sizes, go up. I'm 6'4" with proportional limbs and the XL was a decent fit. I feel that the torso and sleeves could both be a tad longer though. The jacket is super lightweight and very waterproof. I got it to keep in my frame bag for cooler days that threaten rain. It's also an effective windbreaker, and the visibility of the yellow is excellent. For those hot summer days with popup showers, it's not as useful as it is not very breathable and you are likely to get as wet from sweat as you would have from the rain. This review was for "PEARL IZUMI Men's Quest WxB Rain Jacket, Full-Length Zipper, 2.5-layer Waterproof Fabric, Adjustable Waist & Relaxed Fit (X-Large, Screaming Yellow)"

I received the bright yellow jacket for review. I chose the XL coat as that is my normal size for someone who is my height. This jacket is great for a cover from wind and rain. It is waterproof (as advertised) for rain. I chose this jacket as an option for when I golf and the weather turns.First off, the features aren't bad. The zipper can open from top and bottom for flexibility and venting. The zipper is fairly smooth and easy to attach in either direction. The material is very lightweight and does not have any warmth quality to the inside lining. There are no pockets at all on this jacket. That is a bit of a disappointment. It has no storage whatsoever. The big disappointment here for me is that it is very short. The XL jacket is too short for me as someone who is 6'1" tall. The waistline is right at my belt line in front. The back is a couple inches longer and is more appropriate length. If it was the same all the way around as the back, I could accept it. It is simply too short in front, like you're trying to have access to your belt buckle. If you're going to order one, I would advise ordering at least one size larger than normal unless you're slightly less tall. I would estimate that anyone over 5'9 might think the XL is too short. If you're interested in this jacket, I would definitely recommend considering your personal height. If you're taller, I would look elsewhere. If you're looking for any type of storage in your rain jacket, I would look elsewhere. If you're just looking for a waterproof cover, this will do fine.

I really wanted to love this rain jacket. It has a nice fit, a nice zipper, nice materials, and looks good on me. Everything was positive until I thought about wearing this jacket in the rain (that's what a rain jacket is for, right?).There's no hood! That's right; no hood! This rain jacket deserves a "5" rating but I gave it a "1" because it has no hood. When I am in the rain, I want a hood. I don't know why a rain jacket wouldn't have a hood.If you want a nice, lightweight, jacket, this is it, but if you want a rain jacket, keep looking. Every other rain jacket has a hood.
