I bought a new electric mountain bike in April which came with flat pedals. I've used Shimano spd clipless pedals for years on all my bikes, but decided to try the flats. After a couple months riding, I didn't like the lack of control I felt with the flat, non-spd pedals, so I ordered the MYZRH clipless/flat pedals in orange.I really like these pedals. They are light weight and are narrow enough that they don't drag on tight turns when I lean into the turn.Clicking-in on the spd clamps is about as easy/difficult as any other set of spd pedals I've owned. Sometimes I have no problem when I take off from a stop, sometimes it takes me several tries to click in. Once, I'm in, I feel really locked to the bike.Dismounting is as easy/difficult as other pedals I've owned. I haven't changed the spring tension on the pedals and the factory setting works well for me.These pedals are well-built and are a good value.

So far no complaints, fit and finish is very good and the SPD side clips in - out easily.

These work alright for normal city cruising, gravel roads or even trails if you are clipped in the whole time. But if you want to use the flat side to build confidence on the technical trails, I would avoid them. Most times when your foot comes off the pedal and you go to put it back on, the pedal will be clip side up. When that happens, there is obviously very little grip and there is no actual platform to stand on so your foot curls over the clips and is awkward. I figured it would be relatively easy to just flip the pedal back over if that happens, but in reality, it happens when you are on rough terrain and the flip back becomes very difficult. Most times this causes a dismount. I have also found that sometimes when I am on the flat side and climbing difficult terrain, my foot position will cause the pedal to flip. If you are on pure flats, you just keep going, but with these, again, it will most likely cause a dismount and now you are walking the bike up that climb unless you can somehow get started again and get both feet to magically land on the flat side (more difficult that you would initially assume).Moral of the story, if you are using the flat side to build confidence on technical terrain, just buy flats. Then when you are ready, make the switch to full clipless.

I bought this one after buying slightly more expensive (red color) pedals for another biker. This one is much easier to clip in. The reason for this seems to be that it doesn't spin easily like the red ones. I am unsure it this impacts longevity or how much it impacts efficiency.

Very impressive quality and performance over the first weeks of use. The pedals are over and above their price point. Well balanced, great looking, reasonable weight, and an ergonomically considered platform that distributes pressure over a broad area of the forefoot. You won’t be disappointed.

For the price, these are outstanding pedals. After using a set on my road bike for a thousand plus miles including 2023 RAGBRAI, I was so impressed with them, I bought a set for three bikes- mtn, road, and gravel bike.I do not race so weight is not so much a concern to me; versatility and comfort is most important to me. Being able to unclip and ride the a flat pedal helps relieve pressure points on the ball of my feet.Picked up a set of red, black, and silver/gray. Then I mixed the red and black on my gravel bike and road bike. Makes them stand out from other bikes.

After trying some clipless pedals but not wanting to completely give up flats, I looked around at a couple of shimano and other options but didn't like the look, the platform size offered, or the price. These pedals, however, tick all three boxes for me. I've only been riding on them a couple of months so can't speak to longevity, but so far they're working flawlessly. The clips are easy to get in and out of, hold well, the flats are aggressive enough to feel good with my five tens and a bit wider than the other popular shimano dual sided pedals. The pedals hang vertically with the clips always facing the rear, making getting to whichever side I want to use very simple.
