I would have expected the build quality to be better, especially it being a brand sold at O'Reilly.

I think in most cases, you're better off getting a unit with two chain lifts. This will help a lot in V6 / V8 etc. engines, as two chain lifts would be more stable.Yes, it's cheaper for this single type, but the twin chain lifts would give you better adjustment.I found adjusting the ends rather confusing.I thought they would lock once you adjust one end, but this is not the case. You need to go back-and-forth with the ends and loading the engine, as that keeps tension on the swinging ends.Unless mines was defective, locking the adjustment down on the ends does not lock them down.I managed to get my project done, but I wasted a lot of time trying to get everything working.
