This cat / dog house is the perfect size for a large cat or small dog. I love the porch for feeding in wet weather. It's so easy to assemble. Took about 15 minutes, but only bc the 2 springs for the roof are super HARD to retract and I finally decided not to install them. The roof is heavy enough on it's own to stay down, but light enough to pick up and open. Nice quality roof shingles. During the colder months (of FL weather), I plan on blocking the porch off with plywood and placing a heater on the "porch" to blow into the arch doorway into the room. I removed the 2 bars that are in the window, bc my cat needs an escape route from intruders (racoons & coyotes). But be careful, that trim is semi glued on and you will need a razor knife and small thin chisel to pry off. Nice, thick, clear door flap. I love the look quality all around. Very pleased. btw: chemical smell left the house when placed outside after a few hrs.

Easy to assemble and a great size for my cat. For the price it’s hard to beat. Hoping it will hold up well through the winter but will have to wait and see. The lift up top makes is easy to access the inside space.

The directions were great with everything included, even the screwdriver. Hero had to be enticed inside with a treat, so we’ll see. I do like having a place to put his water bowl.

When I looked into getting this cat house, I was nervous and actually waited a long time to give a review so I could give it a fair chance. I have an outside cat who just adopted us, so we wanted to get him something good. I looked at many different cat houses but Mandark the cat does not like small door ways. I read the reviews and was worried it would be good or not, but wow, we went all winter with a heating pad and blankets. It's is warm for him since I put attic installation in that pushes his heat back to him. Put a cat bed in there with a heating pad and blanket and he was toasty! He stayed in it all winter and I fixed him a porch to eat on when it rains. He fits, at the time he was 10lbs but for a stand size cat it fits great( see pics) he seems comfy and like that it accidentally matches my house😆 When putting it together I did have a little trouble, but looking a couples times at the instructions I was able to figure it out. The material is a softer wood, but sturdy. It doesn't leak and the lid stays open when lifted. The floor is sturdy, I had no concern about it holding him. I honestly felt it was more sturdy than some human furniture that I've bought. The roof with shingles are great, they stay in place and very durable. He like to eat on top of the house. The little window comes with a clear flap, but I lined it with plastic on the inside and put the flap on there too. You can run cords out of if need be like my heating pad. To legs are strong and don't wobble unless you put them on uneven ground. I can't really pick a fault with it. Mandark is happy. I did add the lattace to make a closed in corner to keep wind off of him. Oh mandark is 12lbs now and still fits!

The divider piece with the door does not go from floor to ceiling and there is a significant gap in the back where the roof gets installed. Not great for keeping a strong breeze at bay and will not retain warmth though certainly better than nothing. Does seem to keep rain/snow out and would likely work great as a sun shelter in warmer climates/seasons.Looks nice on the deck or in the yard. The small size is very close to not working for my 9lb Yorkie (fits inside but a bit snug).

This is so well built. It is also very functional and well designed. If this is a cat house for outdoors (how we are using it for a stray cat), you need to remove the window bars (you can bend them with your foot and take them out) because outdoor cats need an extra escape door in case of an intruder. First day we set it out, our stray cat went right in--a little catnip helps! Really pleased with the design and materials, even real shingle roof! Real wood, just great design. I added insulation panels in the room and put in an outdoor rated heating pad that fits in there nicely! I bought the "022 Upgraded Outdoor Pet Heating Pad with Timer,Safety Cat Dog Heating Pad,Waterproof Heated Animal Bed Mat,Adjustable Warming Mat with 6 Levels Temperature & 4 Timers Auto Off Chew Resistant Cord" and ran the cord out the floor in the corner. I also added insulation panels in the ceiling. I just used "soundproof acoustic panels" and some styrofoam and jammed it in the sides. I also added a door flap to the room. Just look online for "Replacement Flaps" for pet doors. Our timid stray cat pal is going to be warm and cozy all winter in his tiny house.

Super cute, cuter in person! We bought this to use indoors, and it looks nice and very functional. My little pup loves to go lay on her porch or sleep in her room for quiet time away from our big dog. The lifting lid is perfect to clean/place in bed/blankie. It was pretty easy to assemble, the roof took a tiny bit of adjusting to get it to fit right; yet once it was in place, it’s worked well and feels sturdy. Very pleased with the purchase!

Not real sturdy. The worst thing is you can’t use it in the winter because it ha an open window. Also It was pretty easy to assemble but I don’t know what the connection rod is for. It does look nice.

Just got this doghouse delivered, I put it together fairly quickly and easily (even with my puppy trying to play with all the pieces at the same time haha). It’s sturdy and it exactly as pictured.Perfect for small to medium breeds, indoor or outdoor use.Few things to note:- give the pieces a good wipe/wash prior to putting it together. The smell of the wood, glue, paint, etc was a bit too much and definitely will deter your pup from using it- if you plan on using this indoors keep in mind that the roofing is extremely crumbly/textured like actual roof tiles and may cause a mess if frequently lifting the roof (this is meant for outdoors!!! The roof was going to be coarse expectedly to handle all weather)- consider sealing the paint or painting over as the paint job is... could be better let’s sayFor the price, I’d consider this a steal regardless despite my few quips.Highly recommend!
