Product Description

PID Temperature Controller with 30 Steps Ramp/Soak

SYL-2352P with Solid State Relay (SSR) Output

This is a brand new, dual display, 1/16 DIN (48 x 48 mm) programmable PID temperature/process controller. This controller is for applications where it is desirable to have an adjusted set point automatically over time. Up to 30 steps can be programmed to A) ramp the temperature up and down at controlled rate, B) maintain the temperature for a specific period time, C) turn on/off the relays (alarm relay) after process reach a specific step, D) jump (for loops), run, hold or stop after process reaches a specific step. This controller has all the features of the standard PID controller (except the manual control mode). All the control and setting parameters are stored in the non-volatile memory even when the controller is powered off.

Artificial Intelligence Enhanced PID

The controller uses an advanced artificial intelligence enhanced PID algorithm that can handle systems that are usually difficult to control when controlled by a traditional PID controller. In most cases, the controller will hold the temperature within a reasonable range of the default PID parameters. The auto-tune feature will improve control accuracy and stability.

Features

  • 30 programmable steps for ramp, soak and other logic actions
  • 12VDC output for controlling an external solid state relay/SSR.
  • PID control with fuzzy logic enhancement
  • Dual alarm outputs made standard at no extra charge
  • Displays in either Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature unit

Sensor Type & Alarm Settings

This high precision, full featured industrial grade controller supports more than twenty different input devices that cover almost every possible application requirement. The dual alarm relay can be activated either by the temperature set point or by program steps. And can be used to interlock other equipment in the process.

PID Default Settings

Input sensor: K type thermocouple (sensor not included). Display Unit: Fahrenheit (°F) Display resolution: 1 degree. Alarm 1: Deviation low Alarm 2: Deviation high

Features (Cont.)

  • 0.2% accuracy over the entire input range
  • Percent output indication
  • Selectable security access levels
  • High brightness, large LED display easily read from distance

This PID is amazing. I use it for my knife kiln with no issues. When I first set it up I barely knew how to turn it on let alone fire up the elements and give the kiln a spin. I ended up spending an hour just reading the online manual. What you receive is just a product brochure. The actual manual will answer your questions. Just dedicate an hour to learning the setup and basic operation. After you do this the product will make more sense.I am a little shocked that with the age of touchscreen technology and their accessibility and affordability, how we don't have an intuitive touchscreen PID under 200 bucks. Some day

It can be quite changeling when you first program this controller. The buttons can be hard to find while reading the programing information. The PID worked to perfection I held 1382 deg. F. set point with only an occasional 1383 deg. F. The ramp temperature lagged the set temp while the overshoot stayed with in 3 deg. F. until stable. For an untuned PID controller this is very impressive.

Purchased this controller to convert my manual kiln to automatic. Works perfectly! Keeps to within 1 - 2 degrees at 1500F. A bit of a learning curve to program, but once you understand how it works it is a breeze to program!

The interface of this controller is difficult, but a pretty nifty device after you figure it out. I still don't understand the programming codes, Example they give is -121. Not sure there are other codes, because the instructions do not reference how other codes effect programming (Jumping, pause, etc.). Nice controller, but the instructions are not such that you could become a "Power user".

The unit is very accurate and holds 1600 degrees within 1 degree once you figure out how to set it. Ive never ran a pid controller before, tryed to make sense of the instructions, which helped, but had to watch a couple videos on it to really understand the unit.Works great now!

Received the product but didn’t install until 3 months later. Hooked it up and it wasn’t picking up the thermal coupler reading. Contacted the seller but they wouldn’t do anything for me. Went direct to the manufacturer and they don’t sell through Amazon.ca, however, they were super helpful and help replacing with a new one.Suggestion- buy direct from the manufacturer as they are very helpful!

I built a small kiln for my wife do do some pottery, and this was the perfect temperature controller for that purpose. Download the instructions and take your time to read through step by step. It’s all in there.

Works perfectly! Instructions are not hard to understand if you have any technical knowledge or ever programmed the time on a VHS player. It’s very robust too! I shorted a 240volt circuit to the thermocouple terminals while fitting it all in my enclosure. Burnt the thermocouple wires right off but worked like a charm when I hooked them back up. Pro tip: cut your wires only as long as necessary, you won’t need extra later trust me! Good luck with your project!
