I use this for insulation on a vertical sliding window. I ran a communications cable through the open window. I use this to enable me to just close the window without crimping the cable, and to keep the weather out. I used a dowel rod to secure the window, to preventing someone from opening it from outside.

I like that they are not preslit so I can slide it over the hose or pipe first and not have to worry about the gap opening back up. Good for pre-construction. If on existing piping, you will have to slit the side

Bought these for my mom right before one of the freezes in houston to prevent her pipes from bursting. Pool noodles wld have worked just as good but couldn’t find any locally and overpriced on Amazon these served their purpose. Buying a few pool noodles come summer time. Just FYI.

These are soft (flexible), but otherwise exactly as described. They are not rigid, so should be easy to manipulate. I used these as spacers (folded into two) between my washer and dryer (no pipe inside) which were close together so could bang. They work well to keep things from falling in-between. Very satisfied.
