I have a few coins that have skull heads on them and this one looks good but I’m also impressed with the map on the flip side and it will compliment a brass sundial compass that I have in my curio cabinet. Very pleased with it.

Yo, ho, yo, ho, a pirate's coin for me!I love coins like this that have nice raised details on the front and back of a subject you like... in this case, pirates! While I wouldn't call this a "collector's coin" of any kind, it is fun to carry around, especially when wearing a pirate costume. If someone questions if you're a real pirate, you can pull out your pouch, dump out this coin, and say, "Arrrgh. It say 'Pirate' right here on me coin, matey." :)I got this coin to use for a pirate, carrying it around and showing it to guests at a pirate event. Guests enjoyed examining this coin and asking about the treasure map on the back. And speaking of which...The front of the coin is your typical pirate skeleton head with crossed swords. It has the word, "Pirate" above it. The design on the back is that of a treasure map. Both designs are slightly raised, giving a nice feel to each side. The coin is lighter than I expected. It also takes a little work to get it out of its protective case. You basically have to wedge your fingernail (or something thin) just inside the container and pry it off.Overall, I like the coin and give it a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.
