This Pisez telescope package belongs in the classification astronomers call "hobby killers". There will be no end to the frustrations you'll run into when trying to use it for astronomy. You'll very quickly grow tired of it and put it in the closet where it belongs. But if you spend your money wisely, you can get a telescope that will be a joy to use and to learn with.I tried using the stock included mount along with the stock telescope on a fairly clear evening. I've had quite a bit of experience with finding stars in the sky with a telescope. Believe it or not, it can be very difficult to find a star with a telescope that you can clearly see with your eyes. The problem is you are scanning the sky using a tiny, tiny cross-section to see at a time. That's a problem with any scope, not just this one. And I did have problems finding the star. In this case, it was actually a planet, Jupiter. It's very bright and easy to see, but every time I adjusted the mount to where I could glimpse Jupiter in the eyepiece, as soon as I let go of the scope it would settle down WAY off of Jupiter. Try as I might, I could not get the scope to stay where I found Jupiter. As a result, I rate the mount a complete and total failure as a way to hold a telescope when I released my grip. The eyepieces are cheaply made. There's very little glass involved with them and the image quality is barely adequate. They included a 10mm and a 20mm eyepiece and even a 3X barlow to treble the magnifying power of each eyepiece. Yes, I think they used real optical glass to make these, but that's about all the bragging I can do on them. The scope itself has a nice looking glass objective element (or the front element), but I think that is the only piece of glass in it. Of course there's rear elements when you put the eyepiece in place, but that's about it. For a couple hundred dollars and change, I'd expect a little more to the telescope. Sure it comes with a carrying case, and a 45 degree prism that you must use or you'll never get the eyepieces to focus properly.I strongly suggest you look up a gentleman on YouTube named Ed Ting. He's a very knowledgeable and friendly expert in the field of astronomy and he has many videos aimed at people such as yourself. There's videos for beginners with little money as well as videos aimed at more advanced astronomers with money to invest in great equipment. In fact, I recommend spending as much time as you can spare watching videos on YouTube by Ed Ting, AstroBackyard, Cuiv the Lazy Geek and many others before you place an order for any scope. You'll be much more educated in how to choose a good scope after you do, I promise. And if you are buying a scope for your kid(s), I salute you. But don't drive them away from learning by buying an unusable telescope. Get a Dobsonian, or a scope on an equatorial mount or just a great pair of binoculars (8X power is fine and I wouldn't go above 10X power on binoculars), you'll be glad you did.P.S. Just so you'll know, I have no ax to grind with this company other than they should really raise the quality levels of their product. I wish them well in future endeavors if they take my advice on quality.

I had high hopes for this product, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The image clarity is terrible—I couldn’t see anything clearly, which defeats the whole purpose of the product. The craftsmanship is shockingly poor, nothing like what was promised in the advertisement. To make matters worse, when I received the item, parts of it looked worn out, almost as if it had been used before. This is completely unacceptable for something sold as new.I strongly advise against buying this product. It’s not worth the money and left me feeling frustrated and let down. Avoid this purchase if you don’t want to waste your time and money.

What a great entry level telescope for beginners of all ages. Is this the best telescope I have ever used? No, but for the price it is right ip there with the competition. The value is decent for the price, but the customer service is top notch, I had an issue with one of the tripod legs on my telescope and the retailer was more than easy to deal with and a replacement was sent quickly and I was back up and going. I do believe that for a first telescope for a beginner or someone wanting to view closer objects such as the moon, that this is a wonderful option. I have enjoyed this telescope immensely and will be passing it on to my nephew so he can fall in love with space like I did at a young age.

This is a fairly decent telescope and comes with a variety of good accessories; however, the plastic parts seem a little low-quality for the price point. The optics are okay, but not amazing. This is something between a toy and a professional scope, and I'd put it at the bottom end of the "hobbyist" range of scopes. It's good for observing large objects, but may leave you wanting more.
