I have a good sized garden with lots of grapes, tomatoes, and peppers. Each of these plants needs to be staked or tied to a trellis of some kind, and with numerous plants it can be time consuming. I was skeptical of this tool at first but I thought I'd give it a try. The instructions are totally useless to go ahead and toss those straight into the trash. It takes a bit of finesse and practice to become efficient with this thing, but once you figure it out it's a real time saver. And the ties are quite sturdy as well. To operate the gun you first need to "grab" the loose tape end with the little hook on the opposite side. You gently squeeze the handle part way until it grabs, then release the handle. Now push the gun around the items to be tied and fully close the handle to staple and cut the tie in one motion. Partially close to grab the tape again and repeat the process. Quality seems pretty good for the price. Definitely not a lifetime tool but I expect it to last quite a few years if it doesn't get abused or left out in the weather. And it comes with enough tape and staples to last me a long time. Glad I ordered this thing.

I'm looking at cloning and growing large amounts of plants next year to sell off the front of the property. I saw this and it reminded me of the way my peach trees were when I got them last year. little bit of tape, and a staple. Setup wasn't horrible, but it's something you'll need to pay attention and read the directions on when you chance rolls. After that, I practiced on 2 sticks at first, then decided it was time to go for it on some of my cuttings. Worked perfectly. This is a pretty cool thing to have around for propagating plants. make sure you don't leave it outside in a tool box though. It's got a lot of smaller pieces that probably won't stand up to the elements.

It doesn't fit everywhere but you can turn it around so it will fit most places and it does a good job of holding the plants. It's not a tight fit so the plant has some room to grow. Wish the ties were at least a shade of green so they'd blend in better but that's ok. Not perfect for every application but it's a lot faster than using some of the other tying methods. I'm sure if a plant out-grew the tie it could bust the plastic or tear it around the staple.
