They didn't lock. We attempted to use these to make theater clothes more adjustable, but they didn't stay on the strings. Or lock into place once sized.

Since the pandemic began, I have been making cloth masks. I started out using shoe laces as the strings and tied them at the back of my head.However, the loose strings were troublesome and unruly. I needed a solution. I don't like the ear loops. So one day, I stumbled on another item i have which has strings and it had a cord lock on it.Immediately, I got the idea that I could use them to solve my mask tie challenges. I did a search, found them in clear which is so versatile. I could hardly wait to receive them.These cord locks are the perfect solution allowing for ease of adjustments while keeping the ties together. Thrilled is an understatement of how pleased I am.

We bought these to use for home-made masks. They do the trick, but the plastic is quite fragile. We had no problems with the round ones, but the oval ones have a weak point at the top of the shell. It cracks due to pressure from the spring and the plunger comes out.

Whenever I need to use one of these things, I need to try several ones because some get easily stuck. I won't use all of them because some are just too hard to push down by kids. Otherwise, the locks look like in the pictures.
