This tool is a great idea but is very hit or miss in practice. The plastic construction feels sturdy and I like that it's made in the USA.However the part that actually hooks onto the garbage disposal is too flexible with no locking mechanism. I already had the mount attached to my sink and just needed help lifting the garbage disposal to hook the tabs into place.This 'worked', but it took multiple attempts as It would keep slipping out when I started to angle the disposal to get the tabs hooked. Once the end of this tool starts slipping out there's no going back; you have to safely ease the garbage disposal down, get up, unlock the tool from the sink, and start all over again.As I've never installed a garbage disposal before it also took me extra tries because I wasn't sure I had the garbage disposal locked onto the mount properly the first two times. I also had to take several breaks as I am not a strong woman. I bought an InSinkErator Badger 5 and it seems to be solid metal, unlike a Waste King I previously purchased.While this tool did allow me to install a disposal myself I would only recommend it to people who have virtually no other option. It did not save me time and actually caused quite a bit of frustration. If you are actually looking to save time make sure you have another pair of hands ready to possibly reset the tool.

Due to limited shoulder movement, this made putting in my garbage disposal a much eachier and more enjoyable experience.
