I needed to cut about 4 feet off the top of a dead palm tree so I could safely fell it. I figured I could climb up on my roof, wrap this around the trunk and saw it off. No luck, as this saw only cuts in one direction and it broke off when I tried to back it out. A few weeks later, we hear a huge explosion in the middle of the night. Lightning had struck the wire that was broken off inside the trunk and vaporized the top of the tree! Mission accomplished.

I was going to use this to cut a branch that that was lodged between 2 trees. First-one of the rings snapped off the end of the wire saw. Then the wire snapped. I had a friend on one end of the rope -the angle was about 130 degrees so there wasn't too much tension.

I originally bought this to slip behind a mirror and hopefully cut through caulking that glued the mirror to the wall. (Not it’s intended purpose, I know) Ultimately it ended up failing miserably and for 5bucks I’m not mad. It was not as sharp as I’d hoped, (I used it with my bare hands without slicing myself up) and it DEFINITELY was not as strong as I’d hoped… I ended up snapping the cable in half in multiple locations with just my hands(wearing gloves, but no tools) before giving up and tossing it. Again, not it’s intended purpose so I wish you luck cutting logs when survival matters.
