I bought this to keep in my emergency kit I keep on my snowmobile. While I haven't used it yet it should serve it's purpose if needed. It's compact and takes up very little space.

Bought this to trim limbs that were too high to reach, i.e. 20-30 feet high. Tied a rope to both ends and it worked fairly well. It took more time to get the rope over the limb and correcting the chain that was sometimes upside down than to cut through the limbs ranging from 2" to 5" in diameter. It did get stuck a couple of times which took 15-20 minutes to free up but overall I trimmed 15 limbs first time out and am quite happy with it and the case/pouch is a nice touch!

Now that the weather cooled off I have some yard work to catch up on before winter. I had two small (weed) trees growing next to a fence. I thought this little tool would make cutting them easy. They were about 1 12"-2" in diameter. What I learned was that there is a learning curve in using this. Green wood jams a lot and tension is critical. I ended up finishing the cuts with my long handled loppers. This product is too highly rated to give up on it so I will keep trying. Eventually I plan to store it in the car with other handy just-in-case items.

This product does work but it’s difficult for me to use. We put it in the survival kit but hopefully I will never have to rely on this. I am older female 50+ amd not very athletic.

We had a LARGE dead branch hanging from a pine tree in our back yard. Could pay $300 to a tree service or try something else. So bought this saw with a crazy idea in mind. Wasn't overly impressed at first but now an easy 5 stars. Took my Wrist-rocket hunting sling shot, some heavy test fishing line and a large steel nut, and shot the nut/line over the branch (only took 3 dozen frustrating tries). Use the fishing line to pull a rope over and tried pulling to snap the branch without any luck. Tied the saw to the ends of the rope and eased the saw over the branch but teeth were facing up. Flipped the rope a lot and after a couple tries, I pulled and felt the teeth bite in. Back-and-forth for a while and SNAP, down came the branch. No more fear walking or mowing beneath it. Didn't know if that would work but sure enough did. Not sure I'd recommend that as a use but sure as heck worked for us. Highly recommended!!!

I had never seen anything like this and neither had my husband, we were intrigued and decided to order a couple. It works great, you definitely have to put effort into using it (great workout) but it worked well and quick. Super handy and compact to keep in our four wheeler or truck.

I purchased this for the bug out bag and tested it multiple times and it works fantastic in my opinion. Obviously it will still require manual work from you the user but it cuts great. I do not recommend this but I wanted to test durability so I cut through a 6x4 Pressure treated and with breaks took me about 8 minutes, a 4x4 pressure treated in about 5 minutes then about a 1.5” branch in about a minute. It cuts really well, is sharp, perfect size, handles are durable. I just need to get in better shape to be able to cut quicker. Lol. Definitely recommend it though.

Not a miracle tool, but combined with a casting rod, was able to cut off some high limbs at my Mom's cottage (beyond the 10' chain pole saw on a ladder ones!).(Use a nut on fishing line, and pull back rope and saw). Higher is more difficult as the more vertical the two sides of the chain while sawing, the more likely to jamb (and at some point you would be right underr th branch). Best to cut a few inches out from the trunk as well. Recommend you read other reviews as I did and patience is a key, if you get frustrated easy this may not be the tool for you.I bought two, but the one lasted the whole job and still in good shape (10 or so pine branches 2-3" diameter). This was a very reasonable option, and I will likely shove the two units in my glove boxes for road/trail use.

I bought this to cut down two dense 6" pine branches that were too high up to safely reach by ladder. I just tied a rope to each handle and cut safely from the ground (keeping in mind where the huge branches would fall.) Would have been much easier to do in my twenties, but I'm 65 and managed it pretty easily (with a handful of rest breaks.) :-)
