Firstly, if you don't have or you're not planning on adding a subwoofer to your system, then I would not recommend these speakers. They have an excellent soundstage and offer crisp, clean mids and highs, but they are lacking in bass response. Due to the design of my living room, I can only have front channel speakers and these are outstanding. Truly my only "complaint" which I knew going in, is that the bass response is not great, which is to be expected given the design, dimensions, placement, etc.

I mounted these in wall for side surrounds. They sound good. Was thinking they might produce just a touch more mid / bass but that’s ok. They were easy to mount and they seem very well built. I got them at a great price as they do go on sale. I would buy again.

These could not have been easier to install. All you need is a gyprock saw, a screwdriver and some wire strippers. I installed as a centre channel and there's absolutely no issue with the speakers being slightly off centre with the port. Grille covers it anyway once painted, and you'll need to do that as they are a kind of off-white old IBM cream colour. Be nice if the just produced them in plain neutral white but easy enough to spray paint 👍

I purchased this speaker as a stand-alone center channel speaker for my 5.1.2 channel audio system. And out of the 7 speakers I have installed, this is by far the best of the bunch. Even compared to the other Polk speakers I used, this thing imparts serious depth and detail to my audio. And it's perfect for the center channel, which is more focused on voices in my system. The size of the woofers allows the speaker to really emphasize the sound, volume and tone of voices, so our dialogue is crystal clear.I'm not sure about the specific numbers, but I believe it handles power more effectively too. It gets a bit louder than my Front side speakers when playing the same audio, perhaps it's the two-woofer design or maybe just an better S/N ratio. Regardless, it just works. As a true testament to how much I love this speaker, I am seriously thinking about replacing my other Polk in-wall speakers with this. Unfortunately, this guy is a lot more expensive and only sold as a single speaker. Wish Polk would offer it in a discounted pair!!!

I upgraded from the Polk 65v to the 265 because the v65 was well… just meh ? For the price the performance was crap - and if I’m honest the price of the 265 for just 1speaker is shocking….. but the the sound and performance is good , I only brought this speaker as I don’t have room for a book shelf speaker directly behind my listing position and needed a in wall …. Otherwise I wouldn’t pay that price, but the 265 delivers …. Easy to install and sounds great compared to the 65v

I waited a year after purchase to write the review. They have been great. No complaints. Easy to install.

The speakers come with the template needed for the perfect size hole and easy layout for your room. The grills are very low profile, attach via magnets, and the grill mesh is very fine with a high-end look. The speakers went in easily and secured to the wall firmly. I used these for my fronts in a 5.1.2 system, matched with the Polk 255crt (center), 65rt (rears), 70rt (ceiling presence) for an ATMOS system. After calibrating my levels I am blown away with the sound! These produce phenomenal clarity in both instruments and voice. The transition from one speaker to the next is perfect, being timbre matched. I couldn’t be happier with the results and I highly recommend these for anyone looking at installing a clean in-wall system.

Easy installation, magnetic covers make for a very flush appearance. I was tight for space and I cut my hole too close to a stud. You need at least a half inch of distance away in order to secure all 8 fasteners. I am left with 2 fasteners not engaged on one side but that's surprisingly barely noticeable. I am installing still and only have these going (front left and right) and they sound fantastic. These deliver fuller sound than my old (cheap) 5.1 combined. Signal is everything though. Games and movies from an Xbox one sound rich and full while older netflix tv shows sound muffled and unbalanced, but that's the input, not the speakers. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't hesitate to make this purchase again.

I really love these speakers.I replaced 2 really good Polk tower speakers with these so I could utilize a projector screen in my man cave. I'm using them as my Front L & Front R speakers behind an Amazon purchased Elite Screens audio-transparent screen (model ER100WH1-A1080P3).However, I wouldn't buy these if you don't plan on getting a sub.I've paired these with a Polk Center Speaker, Polk Sub, 2 Polk RC85i's as my rears, & 2 Polk RC60i's in my ceiling.Even though these will be hidden from view, I was amazed at how tight to the wall the actual speaker/cover was. They look amazing. It has an extremely low profile, even less than the other wall/ceiling Polk speakers I have. And the magnet covers are so easy to take off compared to all my other in-wall speakers.Installing them is easy (running the speaker wire can be the tricky part). What you'll need:Tape measureStud finder (highly recommended)LevelPencilLaser level (optional)Sheetrock saw (can get for like $4 @ a hardware store)*make sure you don't cut into any electrical, plumbing, cold-air return, etc. I installed these in the only room in my house that has a drop ceiling, so I was lucky and had a better idea of what I was dealing with. Still there are no guarantees you won't find any surprises until you actually cut the hole.If you're not comfortable doing this, I would recommend hiring a professional.*make sure to stay 1- 1.5" away from any stud. You want the tabs to fully install so you get a good hold.

Item shipped quickly, was received in great shape. Installation is a snap and instructions are easy to follow. For those a little uneasy about cutting holes in your walls to mount speakers, don't worry. This was my first time installing in-wall speakers. If you are at least marginally handy, have the basic tools needed, and use the provided template it will look like it was professionally installed. The speakers sound great. I power them with a Pioneer VSX-1020 and the sound is great. You will likely need a subwoofer as these do not provide enough bass to fill a room by themselves. I added the Polk Audio PSW505 and it provides excellent bass. The only negative I have is that the speaker coverings/grates are a little flimsy. They are magnetic and sit flush to the wall which gives a very clean look, but mine were slightly bowed at the bottom and are therefore not completely flush with wall. If I worked at it, I could probably bend them a little to make them flush. This did not affect my rating as I think these are excellent speakers.
