The freewheel selector is the WEAK point of an otherwise promising winch. The selector became inoperative after the first use pulling a pallet down a ramp from a truck bed.

Like most things you get, you don’t know you need it until you have a situation where you need one. This is no exception! I was redoing my HVAC system and needed a lot of muscle to move it. A lot of blood, seat, and tears later, my neighbor pointed out that a winch would have made things sooo much easier. Fast forward to this purchase and man was it money well spent! It was easy to install and functions like a dream. I’ve used it in so many applications it moves things I didn’t think it would. Everyone with a truck needs one of these!

I needed an easy, lightweight, highly portable solution to help me regularly with some heavy lifting. This winch is getting the job done beautifully. This is simple to use, even for an inexperienced person. The directions are straightforward and clear, and it works great with my little cheapie drill with no problems. My mobility isn't great these days, and I hate asking and waiting for help with some of my garage work- this baby is a game-changer! It is extra strong and durable in every aspect, I am very pleased with the quality of the metal and especially the rope. I've used it a ton and beyond a little dirt and grease it's showing no signs of wear and tear and looks great.Great product, excellent quality, solidly good price point, and one of my handiest tools I've ever owned. Highly recommend!

This is a very handy hoist when you are trying to get things moved onto your trailer, or if you are trying to move your trailer just a little bit and don't want to go through hooking it up to your vehicle. The knob you pull out to unlock the cable is pretty stiff. I have only used this a couple of times so I do not know if it will loosen up later. And you have to turn it clockwise to further unlock the cable, that part is easy to do.So far I have tried two of my battery powered drills with it, and they both work well.I have used it to pull several 200 lb crates onto my trailer and it has performed well.Initially I was worried that it might twist or turn when pulling, but so far it has been just fine and no complaints.

I picked up this portable winch for some light lifting and dragging tasks around the house, and it’s been a pretty handy tool. The fact that it’s powered by a standard drill makes it super convenient—no need for a bulky, standalone winch. It’s compact and lightweight, so it’s easy to store in my garage and toss in the car when I need it. The 40-foot steel cable feels sturdy, and it’s been versatile enough for everything from pulling small logs to lifting heavy equipment. For the price, it’s a cost-effective alternative to a full-powered winch, and the setup is straightforward. That said, it’s not without its drawbacks. If you’re tackling heavier lifts, you’ll need a fully charged drill battery, and even then, it can strain the drill and drain the battery pretty quickly. I also wish it came with a carry case or protective cover—it’s durable, but I’d feel better if it had some extra protection when not in use.Overall, it’s a great little tool for light to medium tasks, especially if you’re looking for something portable and budget-friendly. Just keep your drill charged and be prepared for it to work hard.

I recently began clearing a family property that hasn’t been touched in over 30 years, filled with junk and large trees that needed removal. I decided to give this portable winch a try, hoping it would help move larger items or load them onto a truck for disposal. What I Love About This Winch:Portability & Convenience:The fact that this winch doesn’t need to be permanently mounted immediately caught my attention. It’s powered by a standard portable drill, which is something most people already own. This makes it incredibly versatile and easy to use.Compact & Lightweight:At roughly 12 inches by 8 inches and weighing under 13 pounds, it’s compact enough to store in my truck or even a larger toolbox. Its portability makes it ideal for road trips, snowy weather emergencies, or general worksite use.Surprisingly Sturdy:I was impressed to find a steel cable instead of a synthetic rope, which I wasn’t expecting at this price point. The winch comes with 40 feet of cable—plenty for most tasks. Adding a snatch block not only increases the reach but also doubles the pulling power, making it capable of handling heavier loads.Versatility:This winch is incredibly versatile, whether used to move heavy objects, clear debris, or even as an overhead hoist in a workshop. Its 750-lb pulling capacity is enough for most jobs, and with a snatch block, you can handle even heavier loads with ease. What Could Be Improved:While the winch performs flawlessly, I’d love to see an option for a carry case or protective cover to keep it safe and organized. That said, given the affordable price, it’s not a dealbreaker, and I plan to find a small case to store it in my truck toolbox. This portable winch is a powerhouse that punches well above its weight class. It has handled every task I’ve thrown at it with ease. For the current price, it’s a fantastic deal and a tool I highly recommend for anyone needing a compact, reliable, and portable winch. I might even purchase a second one to keep at work!
