I spent quite a bit of time testing this because it’s my first induction burner. I currently cook on a gas cooktop and previously electric ceramic. Gas has always been my preference, but I hate the cleanup. I also wanted something I could fry with outside so I could avoid some of that mess on my indoor cooktop. Here’s my pro’s/cons:ProsWorks well with most of my current cookware, including cast iron, enamel coated cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.Easy pre-set controls for things like boiling water, simmer, keep warm. There’s plenty of options for setting a more precise heat either by temperature or level 1 - 20.The burner can stay at a consistent temperature, and a low temperature, anywhere from 1 - 2 hours, making it ideal for something like sous vide.Ability to lock the controls.Timer function is quite handy, especially if you want to cook something at a certain temperature for a period of time, but change the temperature after that for another period of time.I have never heard my tea kettle whistle before. Didn’t think it did, until I used it on this induction burner with the boiling water setting. It whistled extremely loudly and in less than half the time I’d finally take it off my gas cooktop, assuming it was ready.ConsThe magnetic area is somewhat small, making it not effective for larger pots and pans. I had on my extra large, 7 qt enameled cast iron Dutch oven, and I had it on level 20. This test did what I was afraid of. I was trying to sear some meat, and level 20 is far too hot for that. That’s a much better setting for trying to get fry oil up to temp quickly. It also burned my meat quickly, but just in the mist center of the pot. I had no complaints from it about having such a large pot on it, but its heat reach isn’t enough for that size pot.I have an old, but very expensive set of anodized stainless steel pans from All-Clad, and the anodized exterior isn’t magnetic, so none of those pans can be used on this. I don’t normally cook with glass or straight ceramic on my cooktops, so those were the only pans for me that didn’t work, but they’re definitely a substantial part of my cooking gear I’m not planning on replacing right now. This thing gets rip roaring hot, and very quickly, so you really need to be careful about how high you set the temperature or level.OverallAll in all, I’m glad I got it, it just doesn’t do everything I’d hoped for, and not sure I’ll be able to fry a bunch of chicken in a large pot on it now. I’ll have to look for one that’s got a bigger magnetic ring. However, I’m no longer intimidated by induction, and can definitely see a lot of benefits. I keep it plugged in next to my gas cooktop, and use it for those things it better at. I’ve enjoyed it enough that if I ever redo my kitchen, I’d like both gas and induction installed, each for what they do best. I haven’t really costed these out, but just from brief browsing, I’d say it could be a bit more competitive, but it’s not overly expensive either.I definitely recommend!

This is so cool. When I took it out of the box the first thing I noticed was, it’s not too heavy, I can easily move it from area to area.Good quality, good functionality, doesn’t take a lot of space.Overall, I like it, I recommend it.
