Was less costly then replacing my hood vent. Definitely sucks up the steam and smoke, just have to remember to turn it on.

I have been given the opportunity to try out several different kinds of these portable range counter range hoods and I had never seen them before, so I have been really interested in them - not just the concept but how they work and how safe they are. I have been able to try them out using different cooking scenarios such as indoor BBQs and hot pots, and I wanted to share my thoughts. Overall, I would rate this product 3.3 of 5 stars. The first thing I noticed was hoe it functioned when faced with my personal daily challenges. The range hood does a decent job of removing smoke and odors from the kitchen when it is me cooking but I have 8-year-old triplets and teenagers...and kids coming home from college nearly every weekend...and then there are the grandchildren.... So. the two settings that it has, while that is also normal for the regular range hood does an adequate job for my personal cooking but tends to struggle a little when it is faced with some of the challenges my family can throw at it on occasion. Fortunately, I do not allow most of my family alone in the kitchen to cook yet, so I am right there when I see that the settings need to be adjusted based in the airflow and intensity of the cooking. I do like the noise level of this portable one much better than the stovetop one. The extremely low noise level is a significant plus; you can carry on conversations without shouting over the fan. However, the trade off to this is that it does seem to struggle just a bit, even at the highest setting, if there is heavy smoke, especially during a lively barbecue. One of the standout features is the adjustable angle height. This is quite handy as it allows you to customize the fit according to your cooking setup, whether you're using it on the kitchen counter or in an RV. However, the adjustment mechanism could be smoother; it sometimes feels a bit stiff, making it less convenient to use.The three detachable filters are another advantage. They are easy to clean and maintain, which is essential for any kitchen appliance. However, I wish the filters had a longer lifespan, as I found myself needing to replace them more frequently than anticipated. It would be great if the manufacturer could improve the filter quality for better durability. In terms of portability, this range hood scores well. It's lightweight and easy to move around, making it suitable for various settings, from home kitchens to camping trips. However, it would be beneficial if it came with a carrying case for better protection during transport. One downside I encountered was the price. While it performs adequately, I feel it’s a bit on the pricier side for the features it offers. There are other options in the market that provide similar performance at a lower cost. So, basically, the Portable Range Hood has its strengths, like adjustable height, low noise, and portability, but it also has some weaknesses, particularly in smoke removal efficiency and filter durability. If you’re looking for a decent range hood for occasional use, this could be a good choice, but consider your options if you need something more robust for frequent cooking.

This portable range hood is a fantastic solution for small kitchen spaces, such as in car camping setups, vans, RVs, or kitchens without a built-in range hood. It effectively removes cooking fumes when properly positioned near cooking appliances. The hood is slightly top-heavy, especially at maximum tilt, but it’s balanced well enough to remain stable without falling. For added convenience, I recommend placing a screen or barrier behind the air exit to catch any oils that might blow out, ensuring your kitchen space stays clean.Given its compact size, this portable range hood performs impressively well. I'm very pleased with its functionality and would highly recommend it for anyone needing a portable or space-saving solution.

I purchased this because I do not have a great ventilation when I do my cooking. It does work pretty good, but I noticed it doesn’t work excellent. But overall, I kept it and I still use it and it does eliminate the smell Better than my microwave does.
