Bought it in May. Worked great until August. After a minute or so of playing the sound becomes badly distorted through external speaker.

This walkman's external speaker sounds great. Overall very easy to use and should not disappoint you. Great buy for the price point.

The product serves its purpose. My little one loves the Guardian of the galaxy movies and wanted a Walkman similar to the one Starlord uses in the movies. The design is basic but the product feels cheap. I am afraid that my son will drop it and that would be the end of it. For the price thou is not too bad.

I disliked how the recordings sounded if no microphones or speakers were used. Luckily I have an old pair of computer speakers and headphones that have a 3.5 mm plug-in.I bought a clip-on microphone from Amazon from the Akingdleo Store that works beautifully and is well under $10. If you simply record with the recorder, a lot of noise from the machine shows up. With the microphone in use, the recording is shielded from the noise of the tape hubs turning and turns out lovely. Using 3.5 mm speakers or headphones also enhances the sound.My offbeat use for this recorder, which takes the larger 90-minute tapes, is recording "scene notes" for a book I'm writing. Previously, I had a small notebook and pen in the car and if "The Muse" stuck with an idea, I had to pull over into a parking lot to write. Now I just turn the recorder on and the microphone is small and clipped to my jacket. I like the old-fashioned tapes I can keep or reuse and found this type of small non-digital voice recorder hard to get, even on Amazon, which is saying something! It takes the Maxell Normal Bias 90-minute tapes also sold here. I hope the extra information I posted helps me as much as hundreds of other user reviews have helped me.

this is the best portable cassette player i’ve seen and had so far! i have a bunch of cassettes that i’ve collected and this one plays them really well! i was also able to effectively record on a blank cassette using this player with a cord through my phone, and the quality when played back on my other cd/cassette player is really good. i’m really glad i got this! it was worth the money.
