When deciding to replace your hinges on your pull down attic door, you must take in consideration that more modifications will be necessary to have the hinges fit the old style hinge design. I took a chance ordering these only to find out they didn’t match the bends and location of existing holes. After laying down both the old hinge against the new hinge, I knew it wouldn’t work. I even had a Mr Handyman look at them side by side and tell me they wouldn’t work and to order a new pull down attic stairs.

Rough made, sharp edges, I wore gloves when replacing mine. Very stiff. I had to work some penetrating oil into all the joints. Once installed, lasted a couple uses before bending. Since my attic stairs are very old and these were the only ones that would fit, I ordered another set and return the bent ones. Second set was better. Not sharp, no oil needed. Installed and seems to be working.

When our ladder hinge failed after28 years it was time to replace the ladder or try and change out the hinges. The hardest part of swapping them out was putting the spring back on, found using a big pair of channel locks made it easier.

These were the only replacement hanging hinge/support that would fit my attic ladder. (matched year and mfg). However, any other attribute worth noting goes downhill fast from there.Extremely poor functionality, and finish. All the edges were sharp as it you're going to get cut handling these hinges during installation and traversing up and down the stairs. Inconsistent tension on the hinge points, one side had a washer spacer on the main pivot pin, the other side no washer. I'm not sure I'll get but a few months out of these. Very disappointed with the overall fit, finish, etc. And they ended up being the most expensive pair of attic replacement hinges. I would not recommend these, I would recommend you avoid them. Bite the bullet and install a new stairway.

One side was fine, the other side bent and twisted like a pretzel when I opened the stairs. It was a bit disappointing.

I needed to replace the left bracket on my attic stairs, and this product worked perfectly. The old bracket was attached with rivets, which I had to cut off, but it was totally worth the extra effort. Instead of replacing the entire setup, I was able to fix just the bracket for a fraction of the cost—only about 1/3 of what a full replacement would have been. This saved me time, money, and hassle. Highly recommend this as a cost-effective and reliable fix!

Need to have a rivet gun on hand and know how to remove prior ones if in place
