Great contour tool. I tried a homemade contour tool with questionable results. This tool smoothed out the rough spots.

This device is used for replicating and transferring the shape of an edge. It would be usefulin woodworking, tiling, and other building trades. It has a roller on one end and a fixed point on the other. The set comes with a wood-lead pencil, but you could also use a skinny pen or marker if it fits in the holder. The distance of the offset can be adjusted. It works ok but is a little clumsy to use since it balances on the tip of the pencil.

This is so simple but so perfect for my wood shop. I run a sawmill and wood shop. I have spent countless hours trying to trace a pattern onto wood by hand with varied success through the years.This is perfect for tracing around existing wall structures, door frames or trim when putting down flooring. Same for putting up paneling. This can give you a perfect cut every time.I can use this for tracing other objects and patterns directly onto a board and cut it out with ease.I love this tool!!!
